About us

Dr. Chodirker was born and raised in Canada. He attended University College at the University of Toronto, where he graduated with honors. He then studied medicine at the University of Toronto Medical School, graduating in 1985. After completing his internship in Scarborough, Ontario, he then worked, studied and traveled in Israel and the Far East for a few years. After completing his training in Family Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto in 1991, he settled in the Boston area. Dr. Chodirker is board certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Chodirker founded Family Care Associates in 1997. In addition to his office practice, Dr. Chodirker enjoys teaching Tufts University, Boston University, and UMass medical students in the art and science of Family Medicine. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University in the Department of Public Health and Family Medicine, and a member of the Department of Family Medicine at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In February of 2003, Dr. Chodirker was named by Boston Magazine to be one of the “Top Doctors” in Family Medicine in the Boston area. He can also speak semi-fluent Hebrew with his Israeli patients. Dr. Chodirker’s clinical interests include comprehensive pediatric and adult primary care, preventive care, and travel medicine. There are 5 Doctors at this site. He is very knowledgeable and very understanding.  He recommended that I see a Physical Therapist for my neck pain.  This Physical Therapist solved my issue in three weeks and it was amazing.  Dr. Chodirker is just fantastic to be able to diagnose my problem and referred me accordingly.  He is up to date and he has great bedside manner.  He is a very knowledgeable guy.

I had a troubling rash that couldn't wait until my regular physician returned..Dr. Chodirker diagnosed the rash as cellulitis and prescribed an antibiotic that after a week did nothing to relieve the rash. Luckily, I returned to my regular physician, who correctly diagnosed  a relatively easily recognizable case of Lyme disease. The symptoms responded to another antibiotic. Left untreated, the symptoms of Lyme disease could have become a lot worse.I have been a patient in this practice for a number of years and everyone has been wonderful. This is the only time I have ever received treatment that was inadequate. However, now that my physician is leaving medical practice, I will ask a lot of questions about diagnostic skills before deciding whther to stay with this practice or move to another one.

I always found that Dr. Chodirker's office staff are very personable and helpful. When I call, I get the standard options to push this or that but when I push the "real person" button I get a very pleasant person, no matter who I talk to. I called recently for an appointment and asked to be called if something earlier opened up. My request was actually heard and indeed I got a call!
