Larsen Masonary

At first I thought we could trust him and that he was doing an okay job. However he kept sending different guys to put the granite facing on. Only one of his helpers knew what he was doing and did a proper job. After he finished the job and was paid in full we started noticing flaws. The first thing was the doors that he had made did not fit. They were useless. We paid an extra $800 for them. The mortar starting cracking around a lot of the granite stones on the fireplace facing. Then the bricks in the firebox started falling out. The back wall of the firebox is slanted. Eventually most of the bricks fell out due to mortar failure. He never finished the wood waiter, just left a big opening. Then we noticed that a liner was cracked. We called him regularly for two years. He kept making appointments and never showing up. Finally we had to hire another Mason. When that mason got inside the fireplace (the big opening Larsen left empty) he not only saw a cracked liner, he said Larsen had to have known it was cracked when it was put in. The front liner had two big chunks broken out. Then when we inspected the top of the chimney on the roof Larsen did not extend the liner the required two inches above the chimney line. There were many other issues with him like no communication and no written contract. I would never recommend him.
