Best tree removal service around! We've hired them multiple times because the job gets done right, by nice folks, at a great price. Leo and his crew are super friendly and professional - they show up on time and work hard to ensure the customer is happy. They have removed multiple trees for us in a tricky spot with ease. They even picked up on my love for nature and saved a cool piece of the tree for me when I was sad to take down my dying trees. 100% recommend to anyone in need of tree service.

Our beloved kitten climbed up into a really tall tree and would not come down. One call to Arbor Technologies and she’s safe and warm. Leo came right away, snuggled our little kitten and was the most professional and kind hearted soul to help us last minute. His crew member Tim was top notch too! We can’t thank you enough! Leos also cut trees that no one else would cut to save our cabins. Had he not cut a tree for us we would have lost a cabin and an entire season of revenue for our family business. He’s one of the best around!

Leo was contacted by my wife and asked if he was interested and able to come take a look at a number of trees that we wanted removed from our property.  Leo agreed to come to our home on September 23, 2015 at 9:30AM.  At 9:48AM on September 23rd, he had still not shown up.  My wife texted asking if he was still planning on coming because she was waiting to leave for work.  Leo's response "Sorry I forgot we started an emergency job last nite and I just forgot... Another time?"  At this point my wife let Leo know that he in fact had lost our business and that we would pursue someone who would not waste our time.  Leo responded "Sorry."  "If you want to give me another chance I'd love to have it I'm happy to give you a discount for your waste of time you time is worth something and I apologize." "I unfortunately took on an emergency job last night that I probably shouldn't have."  Against our better judgement, and the overall need of getting the trees down, we decided to give Leo a second chance.  He agreed to come the following day at 8AM.  Leo did come the following day, but was 45 minutes late.  After spending some time evaluating the trees we wanted removed, Leo agreed to complete the work.  He quoted us $1200 for the job, requested a $50 deposit, which we paid and let us know he would send a receipt through email and confirm a date for service by the beginning of the following week.  On September 24th, we did receive an email stating that we paid the deposit, but no date of service.  On September 29th we reached out asking if we could confirm a date.  Leo replied "Not yet, but I'll know more Monday when I can check things off my list."  "Soon after that."  We heard nothing.  On October 6th, we again reached out asking to firm up a date to which he responded, "sorry, I'll email you tomorrow."  No email came.  On October 8th, we, rightfully, were getting annoyed and reminded Leo of his lack of professionalism from the get go, that we had been waiting for a date, that we needed a confirmed date by the end of the day.  Surprisingly, Leo responded and said he would do the job on October 30.  When we asked if he was absolutely sure he replied "Not absolutely but pretty sure."  We stressed the importance of needing a confirmed date as we would have for any tree service.  This was unacceptable to Leo, and he offered to return our deposit and forgo the job.  Since then, we have had a number of text and email interactions with Leo regarding the return of our deposit.  We have been accused of "Not being patient up in these parts of Dixmont."  Apparently waiting a month to return a $50 deposit is acceptable practice for some.  I've wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to this man, before following through with critical reviews, BBB, and legal action.  It may only be $50, but the principal of this matter is that you took our money and then did not perform the services.  It is mind boggling to me that Leo's attitude was so lackadaisical that he honestly believed that because we had an expectation of confirming a day for tree removal, that we were the unreasonable ones.  Judging on another one of the reviews, unfortunately we do not seem to be alone in this frustration.  At this point it feels like we were set up.  Being asked to pay a deposit, and then having him not do the job, only to keep the money for himself.  Despite his communication about returning our deposit, actions speaks louder than words, and one thing Leo is good at, is talking.  I'm sure a few poor reviews will barely put a dent in the business of this man, but hopefully it will save at least another person from handing over a deposit.  We have since, found, hired, and executed the tree removal from another company.  The request of a deposit for this kind of service is unique only to Leo and his company.  Seems like a scam to me.

Leo returned my call promptly, came over, checked out the job to be done and said "No problem," I asked him to wait until the dirt driveway had dried somewhat and he called in a few days later to see if I was ready to have the job done. He and one of his men arrived and I believe it was less than an hour when the tree was down. I had asked that all burnable wood (anything the size of a soup can and larger) be left and that the small junk wood be removed. That was done efficiently. He also suggested that I might want the lower branches removed from one of the trees on my lawn so as to allow potential buyers of my home a better view. I agreed and he did that at no extra charge.
I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome of the service from Arbor Technologies.

Response from Arbor Technologies
"Didn't your husband originally say his friend or family wanted the wood.., it was after they realized they couldn't move the wood I was called back and did make it back a few weeks later to find the wood gone , wasted trip time expense"

Owner of business came to look at the job, gave me an estimate and returned the next day to do the job. He did an excellent job of taking out as much of the stump as possible without damaging the house, cleaned up the mess, and actually charged me less than the initial estimate. I'd definitely use him again for any tree work.

They did an absolutely stellar job getting the poplars down safely and it was no mean feat.  I was biting my nails for the parts I got to watch and that wasn't the hardest part.  The neighbor who got to see that was mighty impressed.  They bucked up all the wood and got it stacked so we can split it, carted off all the brush, raked everything clean, and didn't take out a single line (or get electrocuted.)  Leo handled the communication with the power company to get the main line booted and advised on local ordinance for who to talk to about shoreline cutting.  I had to actually get permission from the tree warden, but it was no problem.
I was real impressed with how quick they worked, their communicativeness, honesty, and humor.  The price did go up some once the job started, but we expected that, as he'd advised that until he got up through the oak and into the poplars, he wouldn't know if it could all be done from the truck or if he'd have to climb.  He ended up climbing.  A lot.  And in the end, the final price is still within the range of what we expected.
I can say for sure that the garden below the work site took a beating.  He told us it would and all the stuff we wanted to see blooming had passed by the time the work started.  And he also came back with some ideas for low maintenance privacy plantings now that we can see the neighbors and road so clearly (that was a surprise.)
Overall, this was a top notch job.  One thing I will offer as a caution is that schedules are quite flexible.  If you need someone to be in the exact place at the exact time, Arbor Tech might push your buttons.  We don't mind that at all, but some people may.  And we also appreciate that they aren't running such a tight schedule that when our job ran long, they put us on hold mid-way through.
We are so satisfied and our neighbor was so impressed, that Arbor Tech picked up two or three more jobs while they were here.

I contacted Arbor Technologies after doing a Google search for "maine tree trimming". I did not find them through Angie's List. Start Up was a little slow and I received an email from the wife of the owner on the day the crew showed up. I had been busy with work - so I didn't see it the email and I was surpised to see them, honestly. Flow of communication was slow - but I understand they were also busy. In the end, I was glad they showed up.
Leo St. Peter and Bill ran the property in about 5 hours and trimmed every tree as I asked. They then did finer trimming with a pruning saw and clean-up was better than I could have asked for. Leo even helped out a bit in addition with 2 helpful tips.
I immediately referred them to my next door neighbor, who was having trouble with his tree, and Leo handled it without complaint and professionally.
Leo is an experienced arborist and clearly understands trees, their habits, problems, and solutions.
I would hire them again. I might, though, wait until the season is a little less busy - either that or get in on the "front side" of th schedule :-)
No complaints. They did excellent work, for an excellent price, and my yard looks great.

The work was done in a timely fashion, the clean up was done appropriately for our needs, and the workers were professional and very capable.  This was a HUGE tree with a very narrow work area available for the crew.  (There were some companies who refused to give an estimate, as it was beyond their scope and outside their expertise.)  Arbor Tech's crew arrived on time, set up, and got to work.  The bulk of the tree was down the first day.  They returned the next day to finish up and clean up.

Leo St. Peter/Arbor Technologies responded immediately after my initial phone call to cut and remove trees from our property.  He was on-site the following business day to review the work required. Leo provided a quote and timeline for the work before he left the premises. He contacted me the day before work was to begin and arrived promptly on the day of the work. The quality of the work performed and the time it took for completion was terrific. Since the work took a little less time than Leo originally anticipated, he reduced the price...totally unexpected and very much appreciated.  I would definitely recommend Arbor Technologies and would absolutely use them again.

Made an appointment to have company look at work to be done. Leo, the company's owner, showed up and we had discussions about several things related to trees around the property. Leo is very personable and extremely knowledgable not only in cutting and taking trees down, but also about trees in general and in specifics. He answered all questions and explained things in easy to understand terms. He made recommendations and backed them up with straight forward reasons. He even told us how we could minimize our costs by having him do certain work during his off-seasons.
After the discussions, he provided a cost to cut down the problem tree, we agreed, and he and his crew proceeded to cut down the tree, clean it up, and haul it away. We were very pleased with the services he provided and made arrangements with him to perform additional work in the future.

The tree work occurred about a year and a half ago. Most recent contact has been after severe winter storms when I needed someone, as safely conscious as Arbor Technologies, to help remove ice dams that were causing structural damage to our house. We gave to go ahead after his very fair estimate. The tree work was amazing to watch. The arborist did most of the work up in the tree using professional climbing gear to scamper from branch to branch. He obviously knew what he was doing. After the work was completed the clean up was very thorough. And the good news is that the bill came in under the estimate. I've been very pleased with his service and prices. Leo St. Peter, the owner, was the City arborist for the City of Augusta, Maine until budget cuts terminated the position. He is very knowledgeable in the care and feeding a trees and landscape plants. They specialize in tree work and removals that employ climbing and rigging when bucket trucks cannot reach the site.
