Maine Adirondack Chairs

Great chairs at a great price. Maker saves money by only milling one side of the chair, which was fine with me. Note however that he does not use glue (another expense), which I consider essential. That said, it's not hard to disassemble the chairs at home and glue them yourself. (Use Tightbond III, the choice of pros.) After the glue set, the chairs were much tighter with no movement at all. Duh. But even with that extra work of gluing, the price here is much cheaper than equivalent cedar Adirondack chairs I have seen. If you are using these chairs on a lawn (as opposed to a deck), it also pays to mix up some good epoxy (I use West Marine) and coat the bottoms of the feet to seal them from ground moisture. I also finished the chairs in Thompson's Waterseal--the kind with no UV protection as I want the chairs to turn gray. I highly recommend these chairs, with the qualification that you need to do a little extra work to really make them great.

Rob build custom adirondack chairs out of native White Cedar milled in Liberty, Maine.  Rob's design and chair features are the most comfortable adirondack chairs that I've ever tried.  He used rough sawed boards milled locally and planes and sands just one surface.  You get more wood for your money as these chairs are sporting close to one full inch of material.
