Waiting for Godot should not be a business model.
I ordered internet service on 6/26, and was told that a tech would switch it on 6/29.
6/29 I get a call saying that due to 'unforeseen issues' this was being pushed back to 7/2.
7/2 nothing happens.
7/4 I get a call from a tech saying that he needs to get into my house right then. As this was the 4th of July, I was 50 miles away. I get into contact with a rep who promises to send a tech first thing 7/7.
7/7 I get another call saying htat due to unforeseen issues no one is coming until 7/10. I call 'customer service' and explain that I have a job that prevents me from sitting at home all day every day waiting around waiting for specters. I'm told that someone will come first thing in the morning today (7/8).
Did they come? Do I finally have internet access at home? Well, I'm sitting in a Starbucks and writing this review , so take a guess.

Tech Support was patient with my lack of computer knowledge, and made sure all of my questions were answered. Once my wireless was connected, I have never had a problem with my internet service.

Never again will I use Fairpoint for any type of service. In our case, they got our initial order for service wrong, and it only went downhill from there. When you try to call, no matter what day or what time, you get a recording saying they have and quot;unusually high call volumeand quot; and extended wait times. The billing info changes, depending on what rep you speak to. Reps are rude and unbelievably unprofessional. When we asked to have phone service suspended for the winter season, they failed to disclose we would be charged the entire time, failed to bill us for three months but sent plenty of solicitations to get us to sign up for Internet. In May we received a disconnect notice for $36 overdue, and when I called to pay, 12 days before the disconnect date, I was informed we were already disconnected. I paid, and an extra month, just so I'd never have to deal with them again. Awful, awful, awful.

Internet Service
In early December 2013 I changed services to Fairpoint. It took about ten days before I had quality phone service. A new line was laid, etc. Internet was a whole other story. For the two and a half months that I suffered through it, I found I had to use Cellular service on my Ipad. Almost any time I tried to get on the internet I was not able to do so. Repair men came out as many as three times a week and eventually told me that the lines where I live were overloaded and running at the slowest speed. Because of how my life goes, I could not go on without internet service while paying for it and had to fore go the slow as dial up service and return to Time Warner. Not only was I plagued by bad if no service on a daily basis, but I lost hours of my time each week being on the phone with tech support or repair. Now, Fairpoint claims I broke a contract and is Charging me for this. Wait! They did not live up to their end of the deal! i did not receive service for most of the time period.

Generally good; reliable. Get knocked offline from time to time but satisfactory most of the time.

Internet Service, Landline Phone Service + 1 more
They were the only provider who offered a land line for phone and internet connection. The guy who came to install our equipment was so knowledgeable and professional. He was so nice and friendly it didn't take him long to set up everything. He made the installation as simple as possible. And I will continue to use them again in the future.

Internet Service, Landline Phone Service
I have been with them for a long time because they took over from the original one that was in. I have been in this home for ten years and I have been with them all the way. They are really the phone carrier in this area. I have not had any problems with their services but maybe some people have but I don't know. When I call, they make an appointment and they are here. I would like to grade them highly right down through because I have never had any trouble.

Landline Phone Service
Somehow charges are mysteriously created on my bill and it took 30 minutes to get any type of resolution. I looked on my bill and it says that I was charged for 3 way calling in no one in my household knows how to use this service. It was an early morning call from Nov 20th and they charged me .75 per minute. On the back of the bill there is a number to call with billing questions. There was not a human being on the line and I was put on hold before speaking with automation. After 10 minutes I hung up and called back, this time reaching a live human being. I explained my story and she said she would have to transfer me to customer service. I was on hold for 10 minutes before speaking to a woman. I told her about my situation and she was not helpful before hanging up on me. Called back another time and it was the customer care adn service center. I spoke to a woman named Michelle, explained the situation and she said that someone had used 3 way calling from my house. I told her that this wasn't possible. I asked her to review the number that was supposedly called and she told me this information could not be reviewed. Then she told me I had dialed the wrong number. I gave her the number on the bill and she said that the number did not belong to Fairpoint. I asked why it was on the bill and she was very short and said," Well I've taken care of you so there is nothing to worry about" and disconnected. So I found another number and called another customer service line and the woman I spoke to on this call was very rude and said that they had no record of my other previous calls. She told me that 3 way is part of my additional services. I told her I didn't use and have never used this service. She said that she could block the 3-way calling but I wanted to also have the .75 returned. She said she would produce the refund this one time and I finally was able to get the issue resolved. She also admitted that during the entire tenure of my service 3-way calling has never been used. So after a half hour, extreme aggravation the result has come down to the number on the back of their bill does not actually go to their customer service. They create charges, have doubled my bill in the past and I strongly suggest that other people avoid using them. The only reason I use Fairpoint is because of where I live and the fact that I have to keep in touch with some elder relatives who all have landlines. I want to alert people not to do business with them because they are having issues with their customer service. If you absolutely have to deal with them I suggest that you always go over your billing to make sure no fraudulent charges have been made and then to ask to speak with a supervisor if you have problems because it is the only way to get answers.
