MANTSCH PLUMBING

There were long delays in returning my calls and lack of punctuality, taking so long to get here to work, but we left on good terms.

I selected the name of this company from Angie's List. When I called, I got an answering machine. I left my phone number as requested, along with a description of my problem (a blocked drain causing the sink to drain into the tub). I never received a call-back. If Mr. Mantsch is not interested in doing this kind of routine plumbing work, I have no problem with that, and I am quite sympathetic. But he ought not advertise as a general plumbing contractor, and/or he should return calls telling the customer that this is the case.

Mantsch was a no show.

Jesse showed up just a few hours later (earlier than he stated), took a look at the situation, provided some great advice and went to get the necessary parts. While getting the parts, he called for my input on selecting the pieces to make sure I was okay with the aesthetics. When Jesse returned, he got right to work on a tricky project and didn't stop until it was finished. He replaced the elbow joints in the supply lines (after advising me that I didn't really need new lines) and assembled the shower, curtain ring and anchored its supports. When the shower was together, it functioned flawlessly. I had spent almost an entire weekend trying to get it to work without springing leaks. Jesse worked non-stop until 8:30 that night and constantly checked in with me for input and feedback throughout the process. And despite the 5 hours of work (the assembly had a manufacturer's defect that Jesse was able to work around), only charged me $250.

We found a leak in the wall of the bathroom. We called Jesse and he came right over. He stayed late to give us an estimate and a detailed explanation of what needed to be done. He also gave us the option of doing the demo work ourselves to help keep costs down. Since this was an unplanned project, he had to squeeze us in around his other jobs, sometimes working on our bathroom after a full day at another project. He even suggested changing the lay out of the bathroom plumbing to make the bathroom bigger. His company was very professional, incredibly neat, and great with our dog.
