Sundog Solar was founded in 2009 to make solar energy affordable and available throughout Maine. We have since installed hundreds of solar energy systems throughout Maine. We service Bangor, Ellsworth, Rockland, Camden, Rockport, Bar Harbor, Bath, Augusta, and surrounding areas. We have NABCEP certified solar installers and licensed electricians on our solar installation team. We use quality solar panels and equipment to maximize the value of your solar investment. Sundog Solar misrepresented the capabilities of the Daikin heat pump system they sold and installed for us. We were promised a system capable of serving as our primary heating source in Maine winters, with the flexibility to add a third indoor unit later. Instead, we got a 24k BTU system that maxes out with two heads, struggles in the cold, and was falsely advertised as higher-capacity in their own proposal. When we raised concerns, they claimed it was a “typo” and refused to take accountability. Complaints have been filed with the AG, BBB, FTC, and Daikin. I strongly recommend others look elsewhere if they expect honesty, technical competence, or follow-through.

They did a great job for us years ago, when they were a new company. Flash forward 8 or 10 years, they are too busy to return my phone calls when I call to have a problem with our system fixed. We also want to discuss with them expanding and improving our modest system. I guess we’re just too small for them … despite the fact that they told us all those years ago that they wanted to develop the reputation for the solar company in our area that specializes in off grid systems.

They provide thoughtful and thorough analysis and advice before making a recommendation on appropriate systems.
