Our Mainely Tubs store is located in Scarborough and the service folks there are top notch. Dave swung by yesterday and did a great job at fixing the problem I was having with a couple of jets that were no longer working. Yet he didn’t just fix that. He sorted out another problem or two with the hot tub because he took the time to look the whole tub over. His preventative actions were GREATLY appreciated. Were he not so thorough the lights that needed replacing would have caused system failure down the line. THANK YOU DAVE! In addition, most of the work he did fell under warranty so I was happy about that. Having Mainely Tubs sell and service your hot tub is a no brainer. Dave also stuck around and gave me a much needed education on best water maintenance practices going forward. 100% delighted with Dave and his professionalism and care and concern. Their salesperson, Mike Powers, blatantly lied to us about availability when we purchased our hot tub. Spoke to Diana, the GM, who tells me "we all have lawyers" and made no attempt to rectify the actual issue, instead, she does what they do to all their trouble clients, and cancelled my order. AFTER we spent about $7K on the pad and electrical. Stay FAR AWAY!

Scarborough location. Beware! $135, the flat "service" charge - just to come to your house whether you live in Scarborough, or Damariscotta. This covers the cost of "fuel, time to arrive and diagnostics"- no labor. Understanding that expertise is needed to diagnose a problem and some labor is involved and parts, we were charged an exorbitant amount for one small part that I priced out under $30 online. The gentleman at the store was reluctant to tell me their price for the part and also for their per hour labor fee. Finally he said, $185 an hour for labor - and we were charged a full hour for about 15 minutes of work. So, prior to any fix, plan on paying $320. No estimate of cost of work is given, no invoice is given at the time of work and with a credit card on file, you are stuck. The two star review was for the repairman who was friendly and efficient and for the fast service we did receive. However, we will attempt to find another service provider.

They have been a big help to me because my husband has developed dementia and can no longer maintain the tub. I have been using their services for about twelve years and Shep is technician who routinely comes to my home. Anytime I have needed them, they have been prompt with getting back with me to schedule with me anything I have needed done.

My basic concern is the high cost oof these services for this family. I applaud the owner for a well-run successful business. Doubtless, repair technicians will have a good job until some serious competition appears.
Assuming high motivation, these service technicians can probably do 10 tubs a day, 6 days a week.8 months a year. At those prices you can give away the tubs and live on the servicing fees. Good business. Wish I had thought of it.
Am thinking seriously, incidentally, of taking a license from a local tech school and doing repairs at 30% or more for house calls. I take it also that Mainly Tubs has a high markup for parts and a good discount from the manufacturers. More power to them, but in the future I will be servicing ( opening and closing) my own tub. We live on a fixed income.

They did a good job with the installation, but I was surprised by the expense of everything they offer: hot tub, chemicals, and other supplies. The chemicals are almost twice as much as what you can find on the web and the hot tub cost was 25 to 30% greater than what other stores in New England charge. Be careful when buying from them and check with other stores.

They do offer good customer service but charge an unreasonable premium for this service.
