ADT Security Services, Inc

I have been using ADT for about 1 year now.  I have a basic alarm system service with them.  I have not had any problems with this company and will continue to use them. 

This is a revised report.  As stated in my earlier report my cat repeatedly set off the motion detector. After I was able to convince ADT that I had a problem, a technician was sent out to replace the motion sensor with one that is "pet friendly". My cat still sets off the alarm, and in addition I now have a window alarm that is not working. Once again, when I called ADT the people on the phone were unprofessional, and of no help. I finally wrote to them in April, but they did not respond. A second letter in May also went unanswered. I finally wrote to the Maine Attorney General's Office, which provides a mediation service. That office responded quickly. They have now contacted ADT, and we are awaiting ADT's response. IIt is unfortunate that the situation has come to this. Please, if you are considering an alarm system, look elsewhere. I have revised my rating. The only good thing I can say is that the salesman and technician did arrive on time last Fall.

The initial meeting with the sales representave went well. He was prompt and explained the type of system to be installed. He was able to get the installation date moved up two weeks ahead of schedule. My home had been robbed so that was important to me. The installer was patient as he explained the system to me. He worked from 4PM to 7:30PM. I did explain that I had a cat. He tried to set the basement alarm so that the cat would not set if off. However the cat is setting off the motion detector. I have contacted ADT a few times. The first representative wasn't helpful, and seemed not to beleive me. I waited until my cat again set if off and stated I needed a service call. This is my concern. I must wait two weeks, and they can only say the technician will arrive sometime between noon and 4:00. They do not work Saturdays or holidays. Since this is a security company, I find their slow response and disinterest in my calls unsettling. I called my salesman, Barry Jordan to ask if he could help. He said he would call me back, but has not. I just think that as a security company their lack of resposiveness should be a concern to anyone considering installing an alarm system. If I had known that they would take so long to repair a system, I would have gone with another provider.
