We bought a Maytag washer/dryer pair here and were told the offer came with a $250 rebate from the manufacturer. After paying in full and setting up a delivery date, the salesman called and said oops--he was mistaken, there was no rebate after all. I said I understood that mistakes happen but it was their mistake and they should honor the agreement. But no--not possible, he said. The appliances were already at "rock bottom." I said the price was really not the issue; our agreement included a $250 rebate. Perhaps as a result of their error they would not make much profit on our deal, but at least they would be honorable. But nope. Wouldn't even knock a token $50 off. Their mistake would have to be our $250 loss. Bottom line: sales staff quoting non-existent rebates is either deliberately dishonest or, at best, incompetent.

The repair took two separate visits, one to diagnose and the other to make the repair, as a part needed to be ordered. The repairman was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what went wrong. The only issues we had was the 4 hour window to stay home and wait for the repairman to come and the fact that the repair was not able to be fixed in one visit. Both of these issues were minimal in the grand scheme of things and we were happy with the work and even happier that we didn't have to replace the washer.
