"Thank you for you review. We received a lead from this customer back in November of 2016 for a remodel of his house. After spending 3 hours with the customer doing a walk around and estimate the customer proceeds to tell us he is waiting on money from a lawsuit on another contractor and he would contact us.Five months later the customer contacted us again to give him another estimate on installing deck boards and fixing a barn wall. After speaking with the customer and coming to a agreement on the price it would be time and materials for the wall and decking. I let the home owner use my account at the local lumber yard for materials. Customer would not let me pick up the materials(because he didn't want to pay me)and he couldn't because he had only a SUV,so I had to wait for delivery. After receiving materials the customer wanted to stain them himself(so I had to wait on that) while waiting I explained to the customer that his deck was not up to code by IRC specks and I would have to replace the trim screws he used for deck hanger brackets before I installed the decking. Once the decking was about done the customer said they wanted me to installed cedar siding and window trim. I then explained to the customer that I had a customer that had booked myself and crew for the end of that month for a two month job. The customer then said that was fine that I could get all the work done he wanted in a week, but he would not pay for any of my crew to help, just myself. So I sat with the customers and got prices from the lumber yard on many options of siding and trim. Once the siding and trim came the customer wanted to stain and seal them himself. I then proceeded to repair the customers front wall of the house and breezeway while I waited for siding. I waited everyday until I was just about done and Then the customer told me he wanted me to install a new window in the breezeway, but he didn't have one and install new siding and trim on the upper have of the house, then again I told him I had to leave in a few days and he stated oh you can get all that done, but would not allow help. It did rain the last two days of the job and the customer knew I didn't work in the rain, but still want me to come. The day I left the customer was very very happy with myself and quality of my work and I told him I would be back. A customer that isn't happy with the quality of work or person doesn't keep adding more work or even ask the contractor to borrow his rototiller. A contractor that leaves a 1000 dollars of tools and tells the customer to pay him when he returns back to the job is someone you can trust, but this customer doesn't think so. I had 43 working hours total in this job to build a deck, install window trim, install cedar siding, removal of old siding, repairing the front wall of the house, replacing water damaged sheithing and installing house wrap alone all while waiting for the customer. I take customer service and quality very very personal and to heart."
