+ -1 moreThey contracted the job on Nov 2, called later that day to say they would start on Nov 8. On Nov 9 they claimed that the materials had not been delivered, but would start by Nov 14. They did not appear on Nov 14. I was away for two weeks and when I got back on Nov 29, nothing had been done. After repeated phone calls, they delivered the materials on Dec 10 and promised to finish the job on Dec 20. They arrived late morning Dec 20, three worked for about three hours. They declared that the supplier had not given them enough material, but would be back Dec 23 to finish the project. The did not show in December, or in January. After many calls, on Feb 11, they brought the remaining materials and promised to finish the job that day. Once I turned my back, they drove off never to be seen again. Despite repeated phone calls, and promises of finishing on certain dates, they have disappeared. Was this just incompetence or was it a scam from the beginning?
Description of Work: D & R was contracted to replace a small roof section on a house with metal roofing. The down payment was provided and they promised to finish the job within three weeks, They did not get started until Dec 20, then never finished the job. The roof remains half done. Despite many promises to finish the job, they were repeatedly no shows for appointments they had made. Definitely a scam to avoid.
