Even though I provided photos and all other pertinent details, I was not given a two page statement provided by the manufacturer's representative which was full of lies. Therefore I had no chance to question the rep and the Judge ruled against me, saying that the chairs were useable. Not what I was suing for - it was for shoddy workmanship and I was not given a chance to answer the decision. On checking the Better Business Bureau's web page, there are many similar incidences documented with the same results.

"The furniture (recliner) referred to in this complaint was made by a major manufacturer just celebrating its 50th Anniversary.There was absolutely nothing wrong with the piece. We sent our own technician (who is an independent contractor) who has been an upholsterer/technician for over 25 years. He found the chair to be in good working order and not in need of any "repairs." When the consumer took issue with his findings, we then requested a factory representative to review the situation. The factory rep went to the consumers home to try to understand the consumer complaints. He (factory rep) indicated that there was nothing wrong with the chair; but showed her how she could adjust the seat if she wanted. Again, there was no shoddy workmanship and no defects. After all this effort, she still decided to take us to court. The judge dismissed the complaint denying her allegations that the chairs were defective. We have spent a lot of time and money to satisfy this complaint. There was truly nothing else we could do to satisfy the customer."
