Old Orchard Beach Family Dentistry

The staff was very nice. They were able to get me in even though I wasn't an established patient. I had some issues with some other dentists in the Portsmouth/Dover NH area either bad-mouthing each other or going mega-aggressive with my dental care with very little regard for my choices. I've gone faithfully to get my teeth cleaned every six months since before I can remember and one dentist told me that somehow in 6 months I'd accumulated 6 cavities. When I said I wanted to get a second opinion, I was made to feel dumb for "questioning" their judgement. Upon getting a second opinion, the other dentist bad-mouthed the first one, which didn't sit well with me either. When I went here to OOB family dentistry, the dentist was very understanding and just mentioned that some newer dentists were taught to be more aggressive, but that while she saw some "weak/problem" spots, that it didn't warrant fillings at this time. She said she'd keep an eye on my teeth and we'd move forward with fillings if it started to get worse. It was just a completely different, much more relaxed environment. My only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that the office was a little dingy and was hard to find. It's situated in this little run down-looking plaza that doesn't look super reputable. But the service more than made up for the lack of "visual" representation. :)

She is new to the community. She is definitely a step up from my old dentist. She is up on new techniques. She informs you in advance what some possibilities are and what the price is. She gives you options for treatment and explained more about the process. She has new staff, which is nice, because she is teaching them. I had been there 6 months before and when I went this time she remembered who I was. She is upgrading everything to make sure it's all up to date.

.The only reason I go to this dentist is because my insurance covers this particular dentist. If I had a choice I would go somewhere else.
