There was no supervision. The job was done poorly because they had no experience. House wrap was not provided by the prime contractor and it was installed incorrectly. The deck was built and torn apart 3 times because it was built wrong. The design was not followed because the prime contractor supplied none. I supplied the plans to the prime. When I intervened with the sub I was told "You will get what I give you!" Attempts to get rid of the sub went on def ears.
The sub was unable to install the garage doors because they did not know how to start the job. The opening for the doors is 10 feet.
.The prime contractor did all measuring and ordering. The doors were ordered 9 foot wide. The prime contractor wanted to reduce the opening to fit the 9 foot doors. A large fight happened when i refused. The prime stopped all work.
When the work resumed The crew spent 2 days trying to install the garage doors. I had to show the workers how to go about installing the doors and to tell them that they received the wrong hardware.
I spent a week teaching them to install my garage doors. This should have been done in 2 days at the most. I had to finish the adjustments myself because they did not know how.
I hired a second contractor to look at the job and this provided information for my lawyer.
I will provide names of others who have been injured by these folks, all you have to do is ask.
I am a master electrician and I still was screwed by them.
One last thing, I was never given the key to the garage doors. I had to hire a locksmith to make one.
"Well thank you so much for very UNTRUTHFUL review [Member Name Removed]. [Member Name Removed] has a reputation in his community of NOT PAYING FOR WORK HE HAS DONE ON HIS HOME! Ask any local contractor! He doesn't pay for any work that he hires contractors to do. He continues to screw anyone who does work for him that is why he has hired us because we didn't know about his reputation. We were from away! We did a fine job on his project. We have pictures to prove it! We have a signed Completion Certificate by [Member Name Removed] that indicated he was Satisfied of all work performed. Once we sent him a bill for the final payment [Member Name Removed] refused to pay. Thinking we would just walk away from collecting what he owed us. We drove to Toronto to get his garage doors so we could get his project done on time. We went above and beyond to satisfy him. We also had to get our attorney involved to get the final payment that was owed to us. [Member Name Removed] finally had to pay for the work we performed. Everything he has indicated on his review is a LIE! HE is an outright LIER! Too Bad Contractors didn't have a resource to know who the BAD CUSTOMERS ARE LIKE [Member Name Removed]!"
"We were contracted to remove a Window above the sink and replace it with a replacement window as well as removing a glass sliding door in October 2011. Once we removed the glass sliding door we found that the sill was rotten and we discussed with [member name removed] and explained to her that we will charge them time and material to repair it. She agreed to the terms. We also explained during the installation of the window above the sink that it would be an inch or so smaller because it was a replacement window. [member name removed] was present during the install of both the door and window. [member name removed] asked then why it was smaller and we explained to her that we needed to do this because it was a replacement window. All is fine at this point and both [member name removed] wanted a quote to do the roof on their home. I gave them a quotation to do it and this is where the problem started. [member name removed]approached the sub-contractor that was was doing this project for Maine Contractors Group and asked the sub if he could do the roofing project for less and the sub agreed he could do it for less and did the project. However their was no contract between them. The subcontractor violated his agreement and terms with Maine Contractors Group not to solicit work or perform work that is not contracted with the home owner by Maine Contractors Group. The sub-Contractor was NOT qualified to do the work. The onus was on the home owner to due their due diligence and make sure they have a contract in place. All this was going on the same time as the other work was being performed. When I went to pick up the final check from the [member name removed] they refused to pay Maine Contractors the final amount because of the roofing issues. They had no attention on paying us or paying for the additional work that was done on the rotten sill on the door. Just recently they sent in a complaint of the window, We last communicated to the [member name removed] that we would love to come out and address the issue as long as we are paid what they owe. We have completed several hundred projects with no issues in the Central Maine area. We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our resolution to the [member name removed] is quite simple pay your bill to us and we will address your issue."
