Last fall we took our 19' Bowrider to Hamlins for some repair of several items. This was sort of a last chance for this company. We had service work there before with less than stellar results. I went to pick up the boat and was told gee sorry your battery froze over the winter, so we put in a new one. I said that i thought they pull the battery out in the winter as they had done the previous year. They forgot..My loss. I then had to ask to have the tech come inspect the boat with me as I wanted to check the work performed. I found my boat covered in buffing compound residue (difficult to get off) and he stated that I refused their cleaning service so it was my problem. They did offer to wash it for me, I declined. I then checked the trailer to find a light assembly replaced but not waterproofed as it should be. and the safety brake cable did not have a hook replaced as I asked. They said if I wanted to leave it they would order the part. (At cost mind you) I again declined.
Over all this company only wants to sell new boats or cater to the rich of the world. If you are the average guy trying to get by and just maintain your stuff then their feeling is too bad.

Hamlin's provided me with excellent service in repairing my boats oil pan failure that I had bought outside of their business and also found many other things that would have cost me additional money down the road and was able to service them then at a lesser expense to me than if they had let them go till they were failures.
