In January 2014 I purchased, and had installed 630 square feet of wood floor. Prefinished Rustic Red Oak was the product. The product looks like mill ends, which is fine?except that these are clearly worse than second quality. Upon purchase there was no discussion of this product being second quality product. And now not only are a huge percentage of the boards split; now the face of some are starting to actually flaking off. I use a wheelchair, but if I was walking on these floors I would have to be constantly pulling splinters from my feet due to the flaking of the face of the boards. If the contention is that the subfloor or the underlayment used here was unacceptable, the installers made no comment on the suitability of the subfloor. Had I known the quality of their work, I would never have let them into my home. The seams between boards are not tight, damaged pieces were used, cuts around doorways are not straight and even. The transition strip between the new floor and the existing vinyl in the kitchen is splitting apart, clearly it is the wrong size or installed poorly. So when the new floor is put down in the kitchen I?ll have to replace that. The installers also damaged the corner of the vinyl floor (bathroom) abutting the wood, so I will have to have that repaired. I have wasted a $4667.08 (invoice 513308) investment on a floor I thought would last many years. Since its not yet a year old and already splitting apart, I will be repleacing it long before I should. So while I can live with it, had I known the quality of the work, regardless fo the quality of the flooring, I never would have had this work done.
Description of Work: I purchased solid wood...rustic red oak, and had it installed in two bedrooms, living room and hallway.
