Jason gave me a time when he would be here and actually arrived a little early which was very impressive. He was very professional and did the work extremely well. He is also a very pleasant young man to have working in my home and answered all my questions very well. I would recommend Mcvey Electric to anyone who has electrical work they want done.  I have another job to be done at a later time so he took the time to write down the materials he would need and gave me an estimate right then.  He was very mindful of the trash he created and kept it well contained.

The second time was on my dime.He increased some outlets and installed a new circuit braker.He putin a new GFi and the part didn't match (in color) the old GFI. He put  a new outlet for the fridge and a dedicated circuit. He didn't label the circuit. I called and asked him which one,I asked him to come by and label it.I never heard from him again.

Exactly as I would have hoped. While the fans were lowered, they even asked me if I wanted to come clean them off before they reinstalled them on the longer poles (which I did, since they had about 10 years of dust and grime built up on them!)--they could just as easily have simply reinstalled them without calling that to my attention, and I really appreciated the fact they took the time to give me that chance.

He was prompt, professional, and reasonable. I'll definitely ask for his help again.

Mr. McVey arrived on the day he said he would. He proceeded to make a list of all the types of electrical supplies. He then checked his vehicle for what he had available. After assessing his supplies he  told me he would have to run to the hardware store to get the special switches and recepticles that he didn't have. I offered to go for him so that he could get started.
When I returned he had already done most of the "regular" switches and recpticles. He continued on and finished all the work I had for him. I thought I would have to pay him extra to get all the work done but he whipped right thru it.
I was impressed with his speed and knowledge. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

I called Jason because the lights in the house were flickering and going out regularly. He came out that afternoon and immediately identified the problem as the meter box outside the house. He promptly called CMP who begrudgingly came out and cut the power to the house so he could work. He replaced the box, fixed the previous install that caused the problem to begin with and then waited for hours with us for CMP to come back out to reconnect power. He provided a generator while we waited so we could turn on a heater and lights.
He was courteous, professional and went far and above what he was expected to do to make sure everything was right. I would recommend him to anyone and he will be who I call in the future for electrical work.

Like I said previously, the response time was great, he was professional, and performed some of the job very well. I just thought some of it was sloppy and of course the worst part was that it was left incomplete.

We made arrangements with Jason to visit out renovation site to provide electrical consulting, code compliance, and planning services.  Jason arrived on the planned date at the ageed time.  Jason inspected our project and provided guidance and advice for equipement used, layout, code compliance considerations,  best practices, and testing of the electrical work to be performed.  Once the majority of the electrical work had been completed by us, Jason returned to inspect the work and offer suggestions and corrections as needed to obtain a successful electrical code inspection.  Jason's experience and advice made our project easy to implement and complete within the deadlines we were under.  I would recommend McVey Electric to anyone requiring an experience electrical contractor to consult or complete work in a timely manner and at reasonable costs.

I purchased a Groupon for two hours of electrical work from McVey to put in a ceiling fan. I purchased the fan myself, and then made arrangements with McVey to come to my home to install it in our bedroom. He was pleasant on the phone and we set a time for him to come to put in the fan. He showed up on time and went right to work. He had to get into our attic through hatch in order to install the fitting for the fan in the bedroom ceiling, and to connect the wiring to a wall switch which he also put in. I paid him for the additional materials used to install the fan, and we have been very happy with the result. The fan works well and Mr. McVey was very pleasant and professional to deal with.

From the initial estimate to completion of the work, Jason was prompt, thorough and fair. We recently purchased our house and I felt the electrical service needed to be upgraded. Jason surveyed the issues and concerns I had and proposed a solution which would allow me to expand my electrical needs in the future. His knowledge and expertise made me feel confident in his estimate, and I accepted his proposal. Jason immediately started planning and making the necessary arrangements and we agreed on the scheduled work date.
 Jason arrived promptly at the scheduled time and allowed me to observe and ask questions. He upgraded our Main Service panel and fixed the existing spaghetti arrangement of wiring entering the service panel. The result was a new panel with new breakers and a much neater appearance in the wiring. I also received a homeowner's education from Jason, with advice on anchoring wires and proper terminal tightening. He also viewed wiring for our hot water heater and laundry room to assure me everything was "OK". When Jason finished I felt confident we now had a safe, robust service panel with room to expand if necessary.

Jason was prompt and very professional. He also returned on short notice to assist us with a change in design. I have already given his name to friends and family.

Mr. McVey arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He was friendly and professional. Our light fixture was missing a part and he was able to assemble something he had with him in order to complete the job. And, to beat it all, because he completed the task sooner than he thought, he charged us less than his original estimate. This is quite uncommon with our experience with contractors in the past.

I needed some changes made to the house I recently bought and Jason McVey helped me with several things. I intend to hire him again to make some more changes - his pricing was very fair and his work was excellent. He was able to figure out a wiring mystery my previous electrician could not.

He is very good. I went to him because of Angie?s List. His price is a little high but electricians are high.
