Jason is the best guy out there. Always on time, always pleasant and modest. He does a fantastic job and his rates are very reasonable.

We had a new kitchen done and needed some wiring done. He wired lights and outlets. He hooked up radiant heat in the floors. He even wired my daughters clarinet box with the cool led lights we had in our glass cabinet. He was very prompt and was turkey hunting with his son before getting here and still was on time.

Overall the work went well and we were happy. We’d recommend him to friends and neighbors. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions.

It went well. I had him look at some existing wires and ensured they were up to code and organized. We've had no issues since he did the work. It went well enough that we've since had him back out.

Jason was efficient and explained everything he was doing. He also noticed corrosion in my panel box which I did not know about. I will be hiring him to replace it. He was clean and personable.

Electrician was prompt and courteous, but the fan was not installed tightly - there's a slight gap between the fan and the ceiling. Otherwise, it functions properly.

Jason came over - exactly when he said - to trouble shoot a problem I had with some wiring to my shed. He called yesterday to let me know when I could expect him....and also to ask if I had checked the GFCI. ...and I told him I had. Well.......guess what.....it was the GFCI and apparently I hadn't pushed the reset button hard enough. Embarrassing for someone who is pretty handy around the house herself. Jason was so kind and when I asked what I owed and he said "nothing".
Jason had done the original work for me and I had been very pleased with him then.... . So though he didn't cover even gas money today, I will definitely use him again. And recommend him to anyone who may need electrical work done.

The service turned out really well! I did not spend any more than what I spent on the big deal. He was on time, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Once we had our conversation he understood what the issue was, he worked independently and I didn't have to participate in the repair.

He was on time, professional, and generally great. My wife was the one home to meet him and she is a tough cookie when it comes to customer service. Very high standards. She was totally impressed with Jason and with the work he did. He was efficient and thorough. Will definitely use him again.

It went great. Great service and much better than the last electrician we hired.

he does good work, but he was not dependable; he would either be several hours late and not show up at all; he would email me with excuses as to why he was unable to come; then when he was finished for the day, he left such a mess it was unbelievable; then he was supposed to show up again the next day but once again he had an excuse. This was the third time he was "missing in action" so I just politely told him not to come back. We had paid him in advance, but the job was not completed, so we just called Mister Electric to finish the job. Its too bad because Jason does good work, but he either stretches the jobs out or he comes in hours later than he says he will be there, or he just doesn't show up at all. I still have a big mess to clean up in the basement because of him. On his behalf, when he WAS at our home, he was professional and he did a fairly good job, but we weren't very pleased with him.

He provided an estimate, obtained all parts and installed them in the space of 1-2 weeks. Aside from a couple of minor delays (routine with small contractors) all went very well.we are pleased that we used him

We first hired Jason McVey on an Angie?s list special, 2 hours for $49. He worked so fast and efficiently that he finished all the work I needed done even though I was sure there was more that two hours worth of work.
We were remodeling our kitchen and the appliance company brought an electrician with them to install the new oven and a cook-top. Unfortunately the cook-top didn?t quite fit into the cutout yet the electrician wired the cook-top. The counter top company returned to fix the problem and realized they needed an electrician even though the electrician that installed the cook-top assured us they wouldn?t. We were between a rock and a hard place. I called Jason who was on another job but was able to leave it for a short time for our emergency.
When he arrived I watched him unhook the cook-top so it could be taken out and the cut-out fixed. He was professional as always but I knew something was wrong. I asked him if he had a problem with the work of the other electrician. He did and, in fact, it could have been dangerous. He disconnected the cook-top and waited until the counter top people finished.
While he was waiting I told him one of my kitchen lights was cross threaded and we couldn?t get the globe off to clean it. We had tried to fix it but we couldn?t but within minutes he had fixed it, took the globe off for me to wash and then replaced the globe on the light fixture.
He then reconnected the cook-top and was on his way with many thanks from my husband and I.
Prior to him coming I had used the cook-top and told my husband we had to call the appliance company because it wasn?t working right. It was taking a long time to cook eggs and then it was having power surges on some of the burners. My husband wanted me to wait until everything was in before we called the appliance company. Luckily I listened. The electrical changes Jason made fixed the problem and now my cook-top works as it should.
We don?t know what we would have done without Jason. He came right away when we needed him, but more importantly, he saw and corrected a problem that might have caused an electrical fire.
His work and professionalism is so excellent that I wouldn?t hire anyone else.

I learned about McVey Electric from Angie's List and I'm very glad I did. Over the years, as a homeowner, I have renovated and restored several homes. Of the various electricians I have worked with, probably numbering 8-10, Jason has done the best job, and was the easiest to work with. He is absolutely the best at determining why a cicuit isn't working, or how best to the remedy the problem, or make general improvements. He does excellent installations of fixtures, outlets, switches, generator hook-ups and installations, fans, appliances, etc. I feel he has always been fair, and that he has always done his best do the job efficient and effectively. I definitely recommend him to other members.
ps. The 'A' marks I gave McVey Electric are all deserved.

Honest and fair! Will hire him again when I need more electrical work done! Jason was very professional and found the issue I had been having with my electrical and fixed it within the hour. I had purchased the Angies List special (2 hours for $49) and I didn't think I had that much for him to do, so we walked around and he educated me on some electrical stuff and was very patient. Then he saw that I needed a kitchen light system installed and was able to take care of that as well (flexible track system).
Fixing the outlet issue was worth $49 alone, and he could have left with a happy customer. But he stayed to fulfill his 2 hour obligation and found more for him to work on.

It was very difficult to get Jason McVey to return to my calls. I then tried email and eventually thru Angie's list and then I finally got a response. I think that by offering this special deal he overextended himself and found it very difficult to meet the demands of people that purchased this special. After several failed appointments and he finally came to my house on October 2nd. I do not feel that I got the 2 hours worth of services that I paid for. He was at my house for only about an hour and spent a good portion of that time outside on the telephone. Yes he did install the 2 outlets that I asked for and did a satisfactory job with those. But anything else I asked him to do he refused saying it was too big of a project to get done within the time contraints. I asked him to repair 2 phone jacks - one was repaired and one was not. When he was completed he did not write up an invoice and said that I needed to pay him $20 for parts. I still have more work that needs to be done in my house and had I been please with Jason's work I would have hired him to do that work in the future. However I will be contacting another electrician do to that future work. Maybe this should be a lesson to other business owners - don't offer a special deal if you aren't able to meet the demands.

Excellent work. Reliable. We originally discovered McVey through a discount coupon service and now use them exclusively for our electrical needs. Clean jobsite, professional work, focus on quality. No hesitation in recommending.

Jason ran into some difficulties due to a "fire stop" in the wall, but he worked hard and got the job done.
