I called ACB on referral from another, larger local company I called first. The larger company said they couldn't get out before Friday, and it was Monday. After having my septic system pumped but finding it still backed up I needed to have the pipe between the house and the septic tank un-blocked. I called them at about 1:30 in the afternoon, and they were at my house in 30 minutes. When I spoke to the woman who answered the phone, she explained that they would be sending 2 workers out due to the nature of the job and equipment in use, and gave me their hourly rates and explained that they charge round trip travel as well. She gave me an estimated total, and explained if there were any extra charges they would discuss with me on site. The guys knew what they were doing, and got right to it. They couldn't feed the jet into the line from the septic tank end like they wanted to, so instead went inside and went through from there, which required pulling a toilet off and replacing it after. They worked quickly, and efficiently, explained what they did and answered all of my questions, and were gone in less than 2 hours, for slightly LESS than what I was originally estimated. I was very pleased to get such prompt and effective service, and will definitely call them again in the future when needed.

Plumber showed up on time and completed the job efficiently in one hour. He presented me the bill for two hours labor plus parts. I disputed the labor charge and he reduced it to one and half hours. I will not use them again as I felt he was trying to take advantage of me.

I've used ACB before, and found them competent, available on short notice, and clear about costs. They are willing to discuss options honestly.

We had two visits that were related and then we gave up. They came back because it turned up that one of the toilets they had fixed was still leaking afterwards. They are pricey. Their original response was pretty prompt. Their manner is actually nice but in terms of follow through, accomplishing the work and having fair prices and estimates, they are not professional.

We were experiencing reduced pressure and volume. The pressure tank had not been serviced for many years. They quickly added air to the air bladder and replaced the pressure switch which was worn and full of sediment. Instant improvement in the volume and pressure. In and out very quickly. No mess.
These folks are pretty busy, so it can take a few days to get them for non-emergencies.

Emergency call after 5PM. Called ACB and they said it would be an hour. Was actually 1 1/2hrs, fixed leak with 30 minutes but was charged travel time and after hours time charge. For 30 minutes service time $200.00. But was quality service.

I called, they came, found a reasonable replacement for the faulty nozzle and installed it. I never felt they took advantage of any aspect of the situation.

They are located nearby. They were wonderful. They did not overcharge. They solved the problem, which I thought was very difficult. I spent $166 on the job. The price was not more. It was very nice also that they did not charge for the couple of hours in which they were trying to figure out what was wrong. I would use them again in the future.

There is a pump below the basement floor that pumps sewage. It tripped the circuit breaker and the circuit breaker would not stay reset as long as the pump was plugged in. I called an electrician, who came and told me it was not an electrical problem but probably something clogging the pump. He said all the sewage was likely backing up in the pipes and if he removed the cover to see what's going on, it might all pour out. He recommended not using any water in the house until it was fixed because it would all back up. I had thought the pump was only for the plumbing in the basement (a 3rd bathroom, washing machine and laundry sink(, which turned out to be true but I wasn't sure.
I caled a plumber I have used before but he said he doesn't do that kind of work. I then referred to Angie's List and decided to call the closest one listed. He said he would be over around 3:30 - 4:00 but he didn't show up. It turned out he had been in an accident. By the time I gave up on him, it was after hours and this was on a Friday. On Saturday morning I started calling other plumbers and mostly got answering machinces. However, ACB has an answering service who said someone would call me. Heather called right away. I explained the situation and said I wasn't sure whether this was urgent or whether I could use the upstairs plumbing without the pump being fixed. She said she would consult with someone and call me back. She called back and said if I wanted it fixed right away, I would have to pay overtime rates - $120/hour including travel time. but she said if it was not leaking out anywhere, it was probably safe to use the water and just check the basement afterward to make sure it's not seeping out. She said if it did, I could call the answering service and they would send someone. Otherwise someone would call between 8:00 and 8:30 Monday morning to tell me what time to expect someone, probably 9 or 10.
The only negative was that no one called and when I called them after 9:00, the person who answered was rather rude. I explained Heather had said someone would call me between 8:00 and 8:30 and her response was, and quot;Well no one told me anything about that.and quot; That may be true, but it certainly wasn't my fault and she should have just apologized on behalf of the company. She said the plumbers were all out on calls and I would be next, probably around 11:00 or a little earlier.
They arrived before a little after 10:30, a guy and a young woman who turned out to be Heather. She did most of the work but consulted with him at every step, so apparently she is still learning and the guy, who turned out to be her uncle, is training her. The were both extremely professional. They explained how the system worked (which I had only vaguely understood before) and expained everything they were doing and why. They removed the pump, determined the make and model and then called to find out a suitable repacement. After checking with me, they ordered the new pump and said they would probably get it in time to install it the same day! They returned only a couple of hours later with the new pump. When I was surprised at how fast it had arrived, they said they met the guy halfway to pick it up. I'm not sure whether they charged for the travel tome, but they only charged 3 hours total and it seemed like they were in the house close to that including both visits.
The hourly rate was $120 for the first hour and $85 for each additional hour. The rate seems a little high, but since it included two people, it seems reasonable. Anyway, about 2/3 of the bill was for the pump and miscellaneous parts, so the labor charge for just 3 hours didn;t make that much difference. They require immediate payment. They do take Visa or Mastercard (not American Express). They went to great lengths to explain that although they wrote down my credit card number for processing at the office, it would then be destroyed and they would no keep the number on file.
Overall I was very satisfied. The phone call on Saturday gave me peace of mind and allowed us to shower and flush the toilets!. And getting the whole jop done on Monday despite the need to oreder a pump was very impressive. And Heather is a real sweetheart!

I called another company and they couldn't come out and they recommended this guy. He was very good. I was very pleased with the young man that came out. I liked his personality and his work ethic. He came on time and he didn't mess around. He did his job and he was very polite. The price was very fair. I would absolutely use them again.

I came home in the evening to find a pipe was leaking in the basement. There was a considerable amount of water on the floor. I called ACB and the after hours service answered and took my info. About 5 minutes later, I received a call from Travis who was just finishing another job. He arrived quickly and took care of the repair. It was a relief since my husband has been in the hospital and I needed to have the repair done quickly and properly. ACB Plumbing is the company to call. Travis did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them in the future.

It was a very good experience. The man was polite and professional, and he didn’t mind taking the extra time to take care of a problem that I hadn’t called him for.
