I learned of Tight House through Angie's List. I inquired through their company website and received an immediate response to my inquiry from Mark Hunter, the owner. Mark and his employees were professional, punctual, and thorough at every step of the way. Mark worked with me to tailor the job to what I could afford, and he did all the paperwork to ensure I got the $600 credit for the Efficiency Maine incentive.
While my main incentive for this work was to burn less oil, Mark told me that I would also feel much more comfortable in the house overall. He was so right! This past brutal winter was much easier to take without the drafts and general chill in the air that I've been experienced since I've owned this home. My oil provider did a comparison to the winter of 2010-2011 (since 2011-2012 was so mild), and I burned 250 fewer gallons this past winter than I did 2 years ago. I expect to see even more savings next winter since the insulation had been done in December, well into the beginning of the heating season.
I'm looking forward to having Tight House insulate my walls so that I'll burn even less fossil fuel. Phase 1 alone will pay for itself in 4 years in fuel savings -- and, more importantly, there will be less of an impact to the environment. I wish I had taken this step many years ago.
Mark and his company are a class act, and I highly recommend them.

He comes in and evaluates the project. He tells you what you need. You can do as much or as little as you want. The recommendations make sense. It is a good tradeoff for getting some bang for your buck. One of his real strengths, is that he works with a homeowner. He is going to work with you and understand what you are getting.
