Cairn Building and Renovation

Founded in 2013, Cairn Building and Renovation, llc. is the realization of a longtime dream for Owner/Operator Benjamin Love. A Lifelong Maine resident, Ben began his carpentry and construction career at a young age, experimenting as a hobbyist in furniture making and woodworking. Expanding on his artistic abilities, Ben embarked on a career in new home construction and existing structure renovations in 1998. Working under the management and support of several skilled, local entrepreneur builders, and for a period as a self-employed contractor, Ben has gained expertise in many different building techniques and technologies. Today, Ben holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership, a degree that supports him developing strong client relationships. Passionate about Maine’s culture and heritage, Ben enjoys having opportunities to restore properties within historic districts, a niche many builders are challenged with tackling effectively. His expertise in building performance, energy efficiency, and passive solar; make him a powerful partner to homeowners with an eye towards conservation and sustainability. Actively connected to the community, in his off time, Ben can be found volunteering on his town’s budget committee, coaching sports teams and supervising athletic boosters programs, and mentoring at risk youth through LearningWorks Youth Building Alternatives program .
