On Jan 01,2013 My mom moved from Monson,Maine to Calais Maine. We picked up a reserved truck at Scooter's Service Center which is the closest U-Haul to Monson.
My brother paid a total of $ 558.00 for this truck , We get it to Monson ( I am the driver ) I go down and fill it up for the trip to Calais. This takes $ 90.00. The next morning when we are almost ready to leave I go to start the truck and it just click's does not start, I call U-Haul's 800 number, they send out a guy from Scooter's Service Center to look/fix it, He show's up in approximateley 2 hour's.He show's up , No tool's to work with, Too big to fit under the truck to bang on starter. ok. This is when I am told it is the starter and they had tried to order one but no one had one.
I call U-Haul back they find a truck but can't deliver it and want one of us to drive to Waterville too pick it up, this is about 2 hour's away and a 4 hour trip. I tell them I can't as all my money just went into the broke down U-Haul for gas. They finally find a truck in Bangor and a driver to deliver it to us. The new truck arrives at 6:30 pm we get the contnts in broke down truck changed over to the new truck and finish loading the truck by this time it is 9 pm. Now the 3 hour drive to Calais. I stop in Bangor and have to put more gas in another $90.00 this get's me to Calais. So U-Haul was great in helping fix the mess Scooter's Service Center could have pervented if they had not rented out a truck they knew would possibly break down. The aggrivation alone was not worth it.
