Fowler roofing should be avoided at all cost! When I first moved in here I had 5 jobs done by them over about a year. Two roofing jobs and 3 general contractor jobs. Two years after the work I am left with two leaky roofs, broken shingles, shingles blown up in the wind, a laminate floor in my kitchen with 3/8 inch + gaps ALL over the floor and two doors that will not close nor latch properly. But the epitome was when we had a storm move through and I had a roof leak - from a roof they did - that even took down part of my kitchen ceiling and ruined some of my cabinets. I called Fowler and they sent somebody over who found the issue. He didn’t say much about it, just that they would get back to me. I received in the mail an “estimate “ of $650.00 to repair the roof, they wouldn’t even look at my kitchen. I and a different roofer inspected the roof and found the problem- when the workers had installed one of the boots around a vent pipe they had cut the boot to a larger size than the actual pipe diameter. Instead of replacing the boot, they filled the gap with a big wad of silicone, which didn’t hold up. $650.00 to fix a problem they created! And not a mention of the thousands in damages to my kitchen. So within two years all 5 jobs have “failed”. I was embarrassed to even have people over things were so bad - my floor was worse than before their work. I was taking a drink of water when I read over Clyde’s comments at the top of this page and I seriously almost choked at the ludicrous comments. But after some thought, I found that perhaps he was partially correct: I TRUST that Fowler’s does poor work I TRUST that Fowler’s does NOT HONOR their warranties I TRUST that I will NEVER do business with Fowler’s again I TRUST that for the rest of my life I will tell and warn everyone I meet about Fowler’s I TRUST that this review and these others that talk about the quality and longevity of Fowler’s work will help you and you decision And I TRUST that Fowler’s takes advantage of disabled veterans

I loved the first $20,000 project this company did for us. The two man crew involved us in every step and were very communicative. The office staff was very attentive and personable. so much so that we hired them to replace our roof and chimney. A crew of 11 men that didn't speak english showed up in the morning and literally descended upon the house without speaking to either me or my husband. We attempted to greet them and we were just given blank stares. They covered the house with tarps...we couldn't see out or go outside. once they were done ripping off the old roof, we could see. There was roofing material and nails everywhere, a man was using our hot tub cover to walk across and there was black roofing material goo left on my leased vehicle. They finished, gathered up and left. The house and garage done within 4 hours. They loaded a lot of unused material in the van and I wonder now if they even did what they were supposed to. There were places that looked wrong on the roof but I gave it time to "settle" before calling the office. I had to reach out four times before the estimate guy came out to try and convince us there wasn't an issue. We insisted the areas be fixed. Some days or weeks later a man who didn't speak English showed up well after he was scheduled to in an unmarked vehicle and sat in the driveway for nearly 45 min. The office called me as a Fowlers truck pulls in with another guy and a 4ish year old child that was running around my yard and then left on the front deck to play with nails and shingles. The two "fixed" the spots of the roof again, saying nothing to us at all. The office was notified that having a child on a worksite is dangerous and irresponsible. If something had happened, they could sue us. Fast forward to last night when it began dripping heavily into our kitchen which is on the 1st floor. No other reason for this ceiling leak so I call the roofing company. They messaged me at 9pm saying they would call me. 8 am the next morning I get an email saying they were trying to get out here. Few phone calls and emails later, the same estimate guy comes out and is immediately confrontational because he had to come on a Saturday. He looked as if he had not seen roof leaks before and the only solution was to tarp the roof even though he said it wouldn't help and may cause more damage with adding more holes. It was agreed no tarp. It was heated for a bit because he was not helpful at all as an employee of the company and was taking everything personally. Long story short, we were all calm and had a game plan for moving forward and he called the office and we were made out to be confrontational racists that refused to let him tarp the roof. What I had actually said was "you do whatever fix that protects you and your company and I will deal with what's next on Monday" I have been overly polite this entire time and as calm as possible even today when I was disrespected in my own home, in turn setting off my disabled veteran husband. This is when it got heated. Overall, we were both treated horribly as a customer by a company representative that wanted no responsibility or part in what was happening. $15000 paid immediately after the job was done for this roof to proactively eliminate leaking and now I have more potential property damage than I had with the initial leak. The office was no longer nice and told me that nothing will be done until next week when the "higher ups" come back and that they are very aware of the situation. You know, where I was a racist and was asking very common roof leak questions. Like...what is your plan? Next up, lawyer. Don't use Fowlers.

This is an update: I hired them to do an apartment building roof a few years ago. They'd come highly recommended so we were surprised with the mess they left behind, as well as only completing 60% or so of the work they agreed on. There was shingle package paper hanging from a tree that we weren't able to retrieve, which hung there for a year. My request was simple: Please give me an estimate for everything that needs to be done NOW and that will need to be done within the next 3-4 years. They gave me a price which I agreed on. Unfortunately, after getting a view of the roof from another contractor that had to do some work up there it was revealed that they left quite a bit of roof. (30% or more). I assume they ran out of time or ran over budget and decided that because it was three stories and I would never have an opportunity to see the work, they could get away with leaving a lot of the work undone. Furthermore, it's taken me nearly two years to get a meaningful response out of them. The owner or manager simply gave me an estimate to finish. No apologies, no explanation for why they promised one thing and delivered about half of it. They are quite obviously not an ethical organization. I've been in the real estate business for nearly two decades, having dealt with forty or more contractors and this ranks as the most dissatisfactory consumer experiences I've had to date. Follow-up: June 2023. We are about to sell the building and the inspector sent a drone up to look at the roof and sure enough about a third of the roof needs to be completely replaced. Fowler's Roofing is now an official "persona non grata" of Southern Angel Properties and the LaVoie family. We'll be looking for estimates to complete this work. It will be interesting to see if Fowler's does the honorable thing, and comes forward with hat in hand and finishes the job we paid for.

This process could not have gone any better. The salesman Chris Tupper was great to work with from day one. From the beginning to the end Chris went out of his way to help us with our new garage. He was very helpful when my wife had certain demands (colors) and came through. He thoroughly explained all aspects of the build. The crew that put the building up in 3 days were awesome. Kept the yard clean when done you never new they were there. Chris came by after build to check on things. I would use and recommend Fowler’s in a minute. Thanks.

Delivered the materials for the job the day before.  The crew was friendly, didn't leave a mess, and did a nice job on the roof.  This is the second time I have used Fowler's.  A few years earlier I had them replaced a roof on a garage.  They did a nice job on that as well.

They said I needed a roof ridge vent. I found the old one they said I didn't have on the ground. They were supposed to install a gutter but put one up they had it at a 45 degree angle. I had them take it off and they never returned to put it on right. The crew had the whole neighborhood up at 1A.M . working on the roof. The good news is that the roof hasn't blown away and doesn't leak yet. They also left a terrible mess in my yard and didn't come back and clean it up.

It was a little bit expensive but they worked with the promise of you don't pay them until they're done which is kind of nice. A lot of people want a little bit upfront and stuff like that but they don't want any money until they're done. They didn't add on to any. It was a really big project but they were very quick about doing it. They had to rip off the entire old roof, replace a couple of pieces of it, add more joists to it because it was severely underjoist. It took them about a week or a week and a half to do the roof and a day and a half to do the joist. They had a full crew and they were in and out pretty quickly. The crew was great. They basically kept out of our way. They'd just let me know they were here and then they do their business and then they'd go.

All work done from roof and since repair below roof line, unable to see final connection.  Laborer said the connection was good.
The same laborer did a repair of this same pipe the previous spring (before winter).  Earlier snow had actually twisted the old pipe.  The old pipe was cut and a new section of pipe joined to the old pipe.  However, the weight of the snow (metal roof) snapped the old portion of the vent pipe, beneath the new connector.  Hope the second cut and joint hold.
Also that spring, the laborer had to cut and rejoin the sewer pipe.  It also did not hold up the following winter.  The sewer pipe problem happened shortly after the vent pipe was repaired.  However, the contractor would not take on the job of fixing this problem, as it could not be done from the outside.   I contacted a reliable contractor I have used several times in the past and he repaired the damage by rejoining two couplings in the attic (crawl space) and also added a second snow splitter for $363 total for labor and materials..

Despite two ice storms and 8-10" of snow this crew showed up and worked until it was too dangerous to continue.  They always cleaned up, were responsive, respectful and so far it appears a great job was done.

I have no problem with the roof whatsoever but it's already been 7 months. The only complaint I have with them is there were a lot of cigarette butts around the house and there were a lot of metal shavings when they were cutting the metal. Until today, I'm still finding metal all over the place. They could have cleaned better. Basically, that's the bottom line. Everything went well. The contract was for $5000 and then the bill was for $5550. They gave me some lame excuse on why the $5550 was added to the bill which I didn't agree with because I was taking pictures of the trash they were removing from my house and they said they had to take off the existing old roofing from my roof. I disagreed with that because I took a picture of the trash. There was very little old roofing they took off. I asked them why and they gave me some lame excuse. I didn't appreciate the extra cost they added on the end. I probably would use them but with better understanding of the contract.

It took several phone calls and statements from them that they would show up and repair a minor problem with some puckering on the edge of the new roof that they installed. It wasn't until I notified the Better Business Bureau and Angie's list of the problem that someone came to fix the problem. This all took a month to get resolved.

Fowlers Roofing was quick to show up to make a quote and was very fast once the decision was made to use them. The crew was on time and worked very quickly. The roof looks great. The only issue we had was in contacting them after the roof was done. We wanted to know the best way to get payment to them, and ended up just mailing the check after we tried to meet them at the house.

Were over a month late to begin project - we could accept that. At the end of the second day they completed the roof except for a vertical section approximately 3 feet long and six inches high where the satellite dish was screwed in. Worker said he damaged that piece and would be back next day or the following Friday to put in on. Also would use a magnet to be sure all metal screws and pieces were picked up (we plow on one side of the house). My husband wasn't home, so I didn't pay them; however, the next day a worker came to say the piece needed to be ordered, and as soon as it came they'd install it. So, my husband paid them in full. I called and left a message a week later to ask when they would finish it. No return call. My husband called two weeks after that and left a message asking when they would finish as well as requested they at least return the call. No reponse. About five weeks went by and one night most of our tv stations weren't coming in. We looked outside with a flashlight and they had apparently come to put the last piece on, BUT it doesn't cover the full length. There is a piece not covered. We rented a magnet to go over the lawn assuming they might not have done so. We picked up about half of a coffee tin full of screws and washers and metal roof pieces. We never received a call back from them, and in the Spring we will have to order a piece of roofing to cover that section.
