First I want to tell about the owner Eric Denton, he is like a school teacher, he comes in and totally explains every step of the job as they go. I am a DIY and Home Improvement T.V. watcher. Mr Denton is just as good as any of these Home Improvement guys on T.V.. He is the master teacher. The whole job went so well right from the beginning with just a few bumps. We signed a contract in August and had to wait a few weeks to get them to our job. In mid October they showed up started to work. After ripping out the cracked and broken fiberglass shower they found mold and had to remove it and replace a handful of studs. After installing all our new plumbing fixtures they installed new insulation behind the shower, then concrete board and a shower system to prevent mold, mildew and leaks. After it was installed they installed the tile I have had for 3 years sitting in my basement. Job was complete in 8 working days. Wonderful experience will never call another contractor.
"Thank you for your review, you were like family to us. You treated us like family. Having a fresh pot of coffee each morning before you left for work was wonderful. It was so great how excited you got once you saw the shower done. Thank you for allowing us to serve you it was our pleasure. Looking forward to seeing you this coming spring to put windows in your home with the TVA rebate program."
Twenty years ago our home was built and the bathroom was designed with a fiberglass one piece shower and the tub was a soaker but had no luxury, everything was that "man made" culture marble, plastic look of the 90's. It was just not functional or very attractive. Erik came in gave us lots of different choices and helped us design the bathroom to fit our needs. He was so creative and such a professional and knew what we expected. He helped us chose our colors and which tile and stone would match. He and his small crew worked well together and quickly. Erik and his crew were on our job everyday from start until finish, they worked tirelessly and steady for the three weeks it took to complete. They were always punctual and took care of our home as their own, laying runners over our carpet areas and picking up their mess and vacuuming the traveled areas before they quit each day. We gave a down payment at the beginning of the job and then divided the remaining money owed into 3 other payments paid out each Friday. We were so impressed with his crews honestly, I had dropped a clip of money equaling around 1100 dollars it had tumbled under the foot of my bed and I had no idea where the money had went. Later that afternoon Erik approached me with the money and told me where it was found. I was completely grateful I thought I had lost it at the mall earlier that day and was so relieved to have the money back. We have another bathroom and possibly a kitchen to redo. We will always hire this company for every repair and remodel we have to do.
"Thank you it was so nice to work for you, I think your bathroom was one of the nicest we have done. Finding the money was not that big of a deal, we never take anything from anyone. It is not the first time we have found money or jeweler and returned it. I am just glad it eased your mind you seemed so upset that day. Please let us know when you want to do the other work we will do just as good on those as we did this one. Also I will email you some of the before and after pictures if you still want to post them on our review."
"Thank you so much for your review and we loved working for you and your wife, I hope your enjoying it and it brings years of pleasure. Whenever your ready to extend let us know we will come running."
"Our employee told us you were a pleasure to help, if we can further assist you please let us know."
"Sir, it was our pleasure and honor to deal with such a gentleman. If we can help you in the future please give me a cal we will be happy to serve you again."
"I am so sorry that we disappointed you. I must say I was so shocked to read this today after you gave a "A" review on your staircase and then you changed it to this. If I may explain, when you called me to ask if we could do some electrical work for you, I do remember explaining that we were booked up into Christmas time and if we could slide you in I would. However we have not had a break and have actually run days behind on the last 3 jobs and I couldn't put off a already scheduled customer that had been waiting on us for months. I did send a text message explaining this same thing and made a phone call to the same number, but never reached anyone or heard back from you. I do try to help everyone but being a three man crew and scheduling jobs months in advance then try to slide someone in is hard to get to everyone quickly without schedule. Please understand we want to service your needs and would ask you to give us another shot and allow me to place you on our schedule which is beyond February as of today. Thank you and sorry again."
From the moment his team arrived until they finished a week later, Erik and his team did an excellent job. They had everything gutted on day 1, and everything was finished within a week. He took the time to walk us through every step of the project, explaining what they were doing and why. The bathroom has been completely transformed and is now a showcase room in our house instead of an embarrassment. Erik and his team were extremely professional, helpful, and thorough. We will definitely call Erik again!
"Thank you, we loved working at your home you all were so easy to get along with and hope we can serve you again some day."
He came to my home on May 28th gave us a bid and I excepted his bid and gave him the job. He scheduled us for June 24th and arrived on time at 730 am to start to work. His worker and him started and the work was complete in 7 working days. They warned us removing the old tile and grinded our concrete floors would be a huge dusty mess. Boy was he right. He hung plastic around the work area, had fans to help suck the dust outside, but dust still got into the rest of the house. It just couldn't be helped. He brought over a cleaning lady after they were done to wipe down the entire house, she worked all day long. This was not on the contract and I didn't have to pay for her to clean, he paid her out of his own pocket. Which totally impressed me.
All the tile was laid in out kitchen, laundry room, foyer and dining nook in one day and grouted the next. The porch was done on another day cleaning all the tile was on the last day while his worker fixed our header on our porch and rewrapped it with that metal vinyl stuff. He and his crew are wonderful and very knowledgeable. Each tile was laid with no trips and high edges and with no hallow spots when you walk on it. They retacked down all out quarter round and caulked it in the whole job looks wonderful..
Another thing I truly appreciated was that Erik takes the time to explain everything that needs to be done and how his team plans to accomplish their goals. He also gives you a realistic estimate of the time it will take to do the work. If Erik weren't a phenomenal contractor, he would have made an excellent teacher because he makes sure you understand what his team is doing and why.
He and his guys are personable and professional and always left the house as clean as they found it, which is especially impressive given the fact that two of the days they were working it was pouring rain.
I would heartily recommend Sweet Home Repairs to anyone. They are honest men and true home experts who make sure that things get done right the first time.
leaky shower several times. After a shower was taken in it the floor had collapsed.
The metal pan installed in 1960s had disintegrated to rust . I knew we needed a
remodel. I am a procrastinator when it comes to stuff like this, and I was just
dreading this whole remodel and dealing with some injudicious contractor that
would take forever and then over charge us. This bathroom had not been used in
over a year after the floor fell through. I interviewed several contractors to do this
job and took bids since January 2012. I had bids from $5000 to over $25000, but
each contractor would say that is just an estimate and as they tore it apart
they MIGHT find more. I was worried to how much without a firm bid could I
spend thousands more then the bid?
One of our best friends had used Sweet Home Repairs for a
bathroom remodel and insisted we give him a chance. Since I did like their
bathroom and thought the worked looked great I thought I would give him a
chance. Right from the start I was impressed with Mr. Denton, unlike five other
contractors Mr. Denton was on time. He
came in listen to my wife and I and what we were interested in doing. He
crawled under our home and had his look around before giving us a estimate of
what it would cost. He told us he would be back with us with a firm bid in a
day of two. He called me 2 days later
and gave be a bid for $18,000 dollars. We decided we would use Sweet Home Repairs,
and a date was scheduled.
Mr. Denton and his 3 man crew arrived and demolished the
bathroom and utility closet in one day. They
did the plumbing and had a licensed electrician out to move our meter and
breaker panel. Once done they started framing the new walls and insulating they
dry walled and started the new shower using a Schluter shower kit followed with
Schluter Ditra for the floors. Once done painting the laid the tile on the
floors and shower. They built our new pantry and cabinets above our washer and
dryer including the Vanity cabinets on either side of the shower.
The whole job took three weeks but we hardly knew they were
here, each night when we came home from work the work place was clean and
everything was put away. Mr. Denton followed our written contract to a ?T? and
never asked us for any extra in fact he lowered his bid by $131.00 because he
saved us money on parts bought at Lowes. This is a professional Contractor and
his men are professionals as well.
With these guys you dont have to worry about hiring someone who will rip you off and do shady work.
Erik also went out of his way to keep me informed while the work was being done. He sent several text messages and pictures from his phone. I'm sure my Dad will have them do more work in the future.
I highly recommend Sweet Home Repairs.
Then last week (Febuary 15 2012) he came and replaced 15 windows in my house total cost 4200. He beat eveyones price by far. The windows are high quality have low e glass and are made of vinyl.
An extra shout-out to Ceramic Harmony in Huntsville, where I purchased the tile. Their showroom is great, and I was able to find just what I was looking for.
"Member, I am so happy that you have enjoyed your new backsplash it is wonderful to hear that a customer loves what they got. I am very sorry for the overlooked drops with the paint and if you need something else done I will give you a fair discount because of our mistake. It was a pleasure to work for you you are truely a treat."
