Window world set up an appointment to come out and measured all my windows and gave me a price of 333 dollars a window? What happen to the 189.00 window I asked! Well after a bunch of this and that I figured each company has a gimick. To get the windows a house should have I had to pay 60 extra dollars a window for Low E and argon gas? Plus fees for wrapping the window and a disposal charge.
Then there was Windows Again...Again??? Three phone calls to get him to show up, then he was late. He was almost the same price as window world and I asked him where the 189 dollar window was and I got darn near the same speech as the first one 331 dollars.
So I called McDaniel Windows and he was just plan Expensive.
When I contacted Bama the man was there in a few hours and he did like the rest showed me a window like what I could get but the one thing he did was beat everyones price. 296 dollars a window and that was with installation and the Low E and Argon gas was included they were double hung double pane windows with a white vinyl frame.
I paid for the windows and they were delivered in 7 days. The installation crew came out and in about 6 hours they were done. I can already tell the difference and my utility bill is darn near dropped in half.
Erik Denton and his crew are nice men they worked hard and got my job done. Please call Bama Windows and Doors if you want new windows or replacements.
"Thank you so much it was a pleasure working with you and your wife, by the way Tell your wife Thank you again for the fresh sweet tea she made us each day she really didn't have to do that."
Then on the second day a Jack and support beams wear placed on both ends of the bathroom under the floor to give better support to the floor, and all the plywood was replaced along with all the plumbing and electrical was redone.
The Third day all the drywall boards were hung and in the afternoon anther man and helper showed up to "mud the walls" as Mr. Denton put it. On the fourth day the bathroom was painted with a first coat of paint and then the new tub and surround was installed.
On the Fourth day the vanity and sink was put in place and a second coat of paint was applied.
On the Fifth day the mirror and light switch was installed and concrete board and some orange membrane thing with a German name was put down.
The following Monday the tile was done
Then on Tuesday the grout, towel bars and toilet went in along with all the final touches were done.
I was very impressed. GREAT JOB!!!
I had contacted several companies before I settled most of which were to busy doing other things when they were suppose to be at my house on a scheduled day to give me a estimate. Then again some would show and I could tell they had no idea what they were talking about. Then there was the 2 that stood out and so I chose Sweet Home Repairs. Mr Denton the owner took the time to discribe each step that they would do and how they would put it all back together.
Day 1: They started and they totally dismantled my entire bathroom minus the drywall on the ceiling.
Day 2: Started off with them repairing the floor supports because the old tile leaked, re-running new water lines and replaced the unsafe receptical that was located in the lower wall near the bath tub to a safer place near the vanity and with a GFI. Last they installed plywood on the floor
Day 3: Installed all new drywall on the walls and concrete board on the floor and walls where tile would go back up.
All the concrete boards were sealed with a orange stuff called Kerdie .
Day 4: They installed the new bathtub and laid all the tile on the floor.
Day 5: Came in that morning and installed all the tile on the tub wall and around the wall of the bathroom. then grouted everything.
Day 6: came in installed the pedistal sink , toilet towel bars and new toilet paper dispensor and cleaned everything. By 2 pm they were done and on there way
Mr. Denton used pine for the frame and cypress for the deck top. It is so well built if feels like concrete when you walk on it.
Mr Denton also laid a small concrete pad area when you step off the deck it mets with my exsisting sidewalk.
Mr. Denton and his workers showed up on the date they had set and in 3 days my fence was constructed and complete. Mr Denton did exactly what he said he would do and his price stayed the same. I was so happy with his work I hired him do build me a deck.
Mr Denton and his two helpers came in a gutted the whole bathroom in one day. By the time I got home from work they were gone and the bathroom was too. There was not any mess either, they had cleaned everything. The next morning Mr Denton arrived and asked where I was going to want the pot lights in the bathroom, as I pointed his helpers hung them. As I left I saw them reinsulating my walls with new fiberglass insulation and by the time I got home the bathroom had been redrywalled and covered with cement boards in the place that tile was to go. After a week of watching my bathroom develope into what I dreamed of we finally got to see tile being laid. Mr Denton laid down Hardie cement boards along with a system by Shuluter called Kerdi that went right over the cement boards this waterproof the bathroom from any leakage coming through the floor and runing any part of my house.
Nine working days later all was done and my bathroom was ready to be mine again. I wrote Mr Denton a check for the remaining 6500 and we were done. I am so happy with my new bathroom and i cant wait til January cause i am going to have him do our house bathroom down stairs next.
"It was great working for you and companion, I will be looking forward to the phone call in the new year. Thanks again for the nice compliments."
