"The 6-7 hour work days throughout the project that the crew worked were consistent with the first 2 weeks, because they live an hour away. I provided the client with invoices/receipts weekly throughout the project, as well as more in depth invoices/receipts twice upon request detailing what my crew did for work to fix work done by a previous contractor that the client fired. The client wrote a check for $2450 for the final invoice (which was $2500), then put a stop payment on the check without warning. After about 3 weeks, the client did end up meeting me with a final check for $2510 to cover the final invoice and bank fees that I incurred. When the client sent me a message the day before my business trip a couple weeks ago, I provided a procedure (e-mail photos and a detailed description of what was going on with their stairs) which he agreed to, but never followed through with. Last week when I got back into town I sent them the following e-mail and have not received a response: "Hi *client*, It's been a couple weeks since I last heard from you so I wanted to touch base to see if you would still like me to take a look at your exterior stairs. The last time we spoke before my business trip, you were going to send me an email with pictures and a detailed description of what's going on so I can come prepared to fix the problem. Please email your description if you would still like work done. Thank you and have a good afternoon, Melinda""
