Mr. Atkins and his fellow carpenters tolerated my wife and I well during a very distressing period. We were confronting a new and failed leach field at the same time he was uncovering extensive water damage to our new home. The expense of the combined projects was daunting. Mr. Atkins was very empathic and supportive throughout approximately two months of his work and made every effort to assist were we to proceed legally. The end result was favorable. In addition to the above Mr. Atkins allowed me, the homeowner, to participate in some of the minor tasks to defray some of the expense. Although not inexpensive Fine Blade Carpentry does superb work and has my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Mr. Atkins and his carpenters carefully removed the skirt boards(lower trim), some window trim, clapboards. sheathing, and corner board trim from the lowest 24 inches of the front and two sides of our home as wet rot was beginning to become evident on our 3 year old home. He carefully took digital photos of all damaged areas to assist us in cataloging the damage. He recommended appropriate replacement materials and techniques to significantly improve weather tightness of the structure. The lower portion of the house was reconstructed with diligence and care during the harsh conditions of a Maine winter. The house now looks as good as or better than new. In addition Mr. Atkins recommended and installed cellulose and foam board insulation where needed in the deconstructed areas. He consulted an engineering firm when he uncovered a gable end support joist which appeared inadequate and installed reinforcement as recommended.
