"The repairs this customer is requesting is not under warranty, after installing a standing seam metal roof on his home the snow and ice did damage to his pipes that penetrated through his roof, every roof has different needs for installation I have done many metal roofs and try to give customers the best up front so their are no further problems, with this roof it needs some extra work to protect the pipes from being damaged when the snow slides down the roof, my plan is to install bars behind the pipes to stop the snow from colliding into the pipes this will have to be extra work as the aluminum bars for a standing seam roof cost almost one hundred dollars each. I have been reluctant to doing this extra work for this customer because he has owed me $400.00 dollars for over a year for some snap lock standing seam panels i made for his lean to, which he has still not paid. so i have been reluctant to want to do any more work for this customer. Although I will install the snow bars anyway to prevent any future problems and just hope i get paid some day. Thank you, Chris Scesny"
had converted to use as her art studio. The existing roof was an
exposed fastener, reversed box rib pattern. The roof support was open
purlins on 2x6 rafters spaced 24 inches on center. We liked and wanted to
retain the metal roof feature of the building.
Almost all the roofers I talked to wanted to install a standing seam or
similar concealed fastener roof, which, in addition to being way more
expensive, would have required installation of a solid deck, likely
exceeding the design capacity of the existing rafters. Few were
experienced and familiar with the type of roof we wanted.
Of the three estimates for an exposed fastener roof I was able to get,
Chris' was the most reasonable. In addition, he was prompt in getting
out to look at the property and give an estimate, and personable and
professional in demeanor. He did the job exactly when he said he would,
and the materials and workmanship were excellent. Communicating with
him throughout the project was easy.
In summary, this was an outstanding experience with a professional and
knowledgeable contractor. I would not hesitate to call on his services
again, or to recommend him to others.
