Seaport Family Practice

They have provided doctor services for my wife and I for many years. We have been very satisfied with their services over for all the years we have been associated with them from Saersport Family practice to Seaport Family practice and continue to recommend them to anyone needing medical services.

My complaint was serious pain in the neck / back / shoulder. Now I know this is caused by damaged discs and vertebrae in neck and back. I was seated in the waiting area and a female P.A. came in to examine me, I do not recall her name. I was horrible pain and had been for weeks. I had worked at my job until I could no longer stand, sit or kneel at my desk without severe pain. The P.A. looked at me, asked me to extend my arms forward and up to shoulder level. I did this. She then started writing prescriptions. I stopped her and advised that I needed to see a Doctor and find out what is causing this long duration pain. She became offended and left the room. Shortly after Dr. Newsome entered the room in a huff. I really believe he was trying to act as a savior for the pretty little P.A. who had been offended by my dissatisfaction with her examination. He roughly put me through a set of range of motion checks causing me great pain and then reluctantly, due to my insistence, gave me a consult to another specialist. Overall he was rude and unprofessional. From a retired Navy man full time employed at a respectable company I was treated with no respect. I have since been treated by the Veterans Administration for my ongoing and permanent condition and am searching for a Primary Care Doctor that has time to actually build a relationship with a patient and assist with my overall well being. I do not remember the exact date of appointment but obviously I have not returned to this clinic.

I really like that they are not pressured by drug company sales. They work really hard to develop relationships with other medical service providers in the area. They are almost provide all services. They are also very friendly and efficient. They have also set up an internet service so that you can ask questions and look up your medical history.

The staff is friendly, but overall the office is entirely overbooked. Waiting is standard, sometimes I have waited over 45 minutes to get into a room and then while in the room I can wait up to 1/2 hour to see the doctor. It is difficult and annoying but the only PCP in my area.
