Hair Salons/Barbers
This salon is a great salon. I recently moved to Belfast, and have tried several other salons in the Belfast area, all of which were okay, but not quite as good as this one. There are about 4 other stylists there, besides Lisa, all of whom are employees of Lisa and her husband, who own the salon. I think in large measure my satisfaction is due to the fact that Lisa, the one who does my hair, listens to the customer and does what the customer wants, NOT what she THINKS the customer should want. I have gone to many hair stylists, and too often they end up cutting the hair too short, or fashioning it the way they were told to fashion in school, and thus, the idiosyncrasies of each customer may not be honored. Both my husband and I have found that she listens closely, and does exactly what we both requested. Also, when they wash your hair, they REALLY wash it. How many times have I come away from other salons with hair that is barely washed, just sort of watered and fluffed about a bit with the soap and then rinsed!
The salon itself is clean and upbeat, and a happy place to come to. Her husband operates the front office, and is as personable and nice as everyone else is. No frowns or bad days allowed, I guess?! This makes a difference - whoever is handling your head transfers their own energy while doing it - you want that energy to be good, no bad. This salon is also open seven days a week - that is a real feat! Often into the evening hours as well. They do everything from hair coloring, styling, nails, waxing, pedicures, perms, the whole shebang. In the back office, there are two non-affiliated, but listed on the site, masseuses who do excellent massages for both men and women. Just like a day spa. This is a real little gem of a salon, and I was fortunate to know someone who lived in Belfast for a very long time who recommended it to me.
