Went very well. Owner's sons came in, diagnosed the problem, went for the part offering two choices for prices. Their work was excellent and they removed all the non-working pieces.

Came up to Maine to open up 3 camps, one had a leak in the underneath plumbing, it was the feed to the toilet.  This was the weekend of Memorial Day.  I have used ABM in the past but couldn't get an appointment until a week later, I needed it done sooner.  Using Angie's List, Tim's Plumbing was 3rd company I called, they were able to accommodate my short notice request.   I was told they'll send someone out Wednesday around 9 to 9:30AM. Two [younger than me] guys showed up right at 9AM, I give them an A for punctuality.  I showed them the area of leak loaning my mirror and LED flashlight so they could see the area of leak.  I would have fixit it myself (I've done plenty....) but chickened out on account of how tight the access was.  It required special effort (and time) only because the camp has settled over the years leaving ZERO crawlspace for access.  With my luck and Murphy's law governing my repairing career, It would not have gone well.  I have learn to recognize a snafu when I see it.  Fortunately the leak was close to foundation edge.  After moving stones, bricks and what dirt they could, it afforded just enough room to cut and replace the section with 'Pex (he had to use a shorty tubing cutter).  Pex is all I ever use for repairs since I discovered it, no more soldering or burst copper pipes!   The first attempt was unsuccessful, it was only then I $aw the first sign "we might have to cut the floor for access".  I was not present for the repair procedures. Another 20 or so minutes later, they  had it fixed, (no floor cutting).  They also replaced the feed petcock.  If two of them had a little trouble, one of me would have had a lot of it....  The actual repair was simple, getting to it was not.  The fix was worth $240 to me (the bill goes to the owner).

My ONLY complaint, and it is a minor one, they accidentally took my flashlight.  I'm sure it was unintentional.  He'll realize it at some point and feel bad about it.  But I would never expect him to drive back here for a $5 flashlight.

I will use Tim's plumbing again when I need.  I was impressed that they were able to accommodate on short notice immediately after a long holiday weekend) and they showed up when they said they would, that means a lot to me, especially in 'laid-back' Maine.

  2 thumbs up.

He estimated that it would take 3/4 of a day to install my toilet in a location that a toilet was already located. They were going to charge me $1500 for a toilet that I found online for $800. When I questioned the owner about this mark up he said it was because they warrantee the toilet for a year. I told him the online place warantees for 3 years. The work took an hour and a half and that was with the plumber working very slowly. Taking time to pet my cats, getting one tool at a time from the van. Standing at the van for long periods. Then they had to leave to go get parts- gone for 30 minutes. They told me they have installed lots of these toilets not sure why they didn't have the parts upon arrival. They arrived at 8:30 and all of the work was done at 10:00 with the half hour break in there. But they did not have a caulk gun. When I told him I had one he could use he said, "well you already paid for it". I explained that I was expecting a refund from my $480 deposit. He said that I would be getting one.
They told me they charge $80 an hour. if I pay them for 2 hours it is $160. I should be getting a refund of $320. When I called the owner he did not return my calls. I continued to call for 5 days. I never heard back. On the 5th day I left a message saying that I would be taking other actions if I did not hear back from him. He called me back then and screamed in my ear that he would not be giving me any refund and hung up on me. I think this is very bad business. He cashed my deposit check well before the work was done.

We have used Tim's Plumbing on several occasions. The first was when we needed a new sump pump in the basement, he was there very quickly and did the job in the same day. Since then we have had Tim and his crew install a well pump, help install a bathroom sink and replace several water lines, new toilet, new water heater, tub work done, new hoses on the washer, install a utility sink in the laundry room and several other jobs. He and his team are always on time, very professional and courteous, his pricing is very fair. We use Tim and his team for all our plumbing needs.

They arrived on time, they explained their work, they were done in just under 30 minutes though they charge a 1-hour minimum. Still I felt the price was OK and their work was solid. They were both (George and Justin) pleasant and professional, particularly the one (George) who did the work. It was easily a one man job, I was not sure why two were there. Maybe one was in training or perhaps it is standard procedure for them; I didn't ask, and did not get upset since they didn't waste time. As mentioned, I felt their work was solid and cost OK, and responsiveness from initial call was exceptional. Tim has always answered the phone when I call and calls back within the same day if I don't catch him at a free moment. I'd certainly choose to work with them again, particularly in an emergency since they are very responsive.

Our latest project with Tim's was the emergency repair of a pipe leading to an outside faucet in our kennel. We had a nice warm day and turned the water back on and discovered a leak. I called Tim and his guys were here to make the repair in short order, just as they always are.

I found his work to be excellent and his people to be courteous. They cleaned up their mess very nicely. They came in an extremely timely manner. They were very prompt and listened to our concerns. They did a very good job at a very reasonable price. We were not satisfied with people who were servicing our water softener system. We found that they were charging us an exorbitant price and we had to have the work done on their schedule, not ours. But Tim's did the work for less, guaranteed the work, did it on our schedule and were very willing to accommodate us in every way that we could think of. They charged us probably about 20-30% less than the other company. I am planning on using them again. We were just extremely satisfied with them. They were very good to us. They were very accommodating to us and that's especially important when you have somebody in the household who is as disabled as I am and cannot get around much. They were willing to sit and talk to me where I was rather than having me go down and them showing me what was going on where the equipment was. It meant very much to me and that was very much appreciated. I have a remodeling project in the works but I haven't talked to them yet about it because the stud work is not done yet, but as soon as the plumbing is ready to go in, I am going to fire up and call them and ask for an estimate. I am extremely pleased with the service and promptness of Tim's Plumbing. They did extremely well by us and bent over backwards in many areas.

They did a very good job for us at a much lower price than the people we had before. They were recommended to us. They do very high quality work. They were very courteous and would let you know if they were going to be late. The overall experience was excellent. I would give double or triple A's if I could. They were very good to us. I would use this service again.
