Rick McLain, owner of Black Bear Tree Experts, is extremely professional and does top-notch work.  He came with two co-workers, and it was like watching a choreographed maneuver.  They didn't waste a minute, they were extremely safe in everything that they did. They each knew exactly what to do and when to do it to make the work run smoothly.  The tree by the house was particularly difficult since it was very large and right up against the house.  But Rick was able to take down each section of the tree without a branch or any part of the trunk ever hitting the roof.  He had a large bucket truck that reached as high as any I've seen, so he was able to take off limbs in chunks from very high up.  The crew chipped all the branches with leaves and left the large stuff for us as we had asked, so we could use it for firewood.  When I called Rick initially to see if he could do the job, even though it was in the middle of an extremely busy season for him, he came out the next day to give us an estimate, and said he could get to the work in 3-4 weeks. He then came to do the job three weeks later, calling the day before to make sure the day would work for us. We couldn't have asked for anything to have been done in a more expert or professional manner!  And on top of all of this, he also has an answering service!  That is rare among tree experts in our ares and unbelievably helpful.  I could call anytime and know that my message would get through to Rick, and that he would call me back.  If we have another tree that we need cut, I will definitely call Black Bear Experts again!  Rick gets an A++ rating from us!

Great experience!  They did the job as promised and cleaned up after themselves.  Also impressed with the effort made to trotect my lawn.

They did a good job doing it. The price was fair. They were very pleasant people. It didn't take them very long to do the job. I'd have them again. They were excellent. I'm going to try to get them again this fall more than likely.

Black Bear Tree Service showed up and gave me an estimate. I accepted
the estimate, which was totally reasonable. They did the job, taking
down several trees quickly and perfectly, then they cleaned up. I'd hire
them again in a heartbeat.

We found them on Angie's List.  Called to get an estimate.  They came out the next day, quoted the job on the spot.  We agreed to the price.  They said it would be about 1 - 2 weeks.  48 hours later, the trees were gone.  Not another leaf disturbed in the yard.  Price exactly as quoted.  We would hire them again in a minute.

These were very large trees, and two of them were against the power line to the house.  This is a professional outfit - not a couple of guys with a chainsaw.  When we are ready to have the stumps ground, we will call them to do the work.

. The apparent owner of the company responded promptly to my call.  He was friendly and showed great expertise.  He gave a surprisingly low estimate for the work.

At the appointed day and hour, the workers were a bit late, but a call to their office revealed that their arrival was imminent.  They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly.

Great. I've already recommended him to a neighbor.

I called and he came when he said he would. He got out of the truck, looked at the tree and gave me an instant price of $350. for the tree and $65. for the stump. He said he would clean up after the tree but not the stump grinding. I agreed. He came when he said he would with a truck with a cherry picker on it plus a chipper. He carefully limned down and removed the tree down to a few , maybe 3 inches, from the ground. Every last twig was racked and chipped as was the entire tree - chipped and gone. He returned at the end of the week as he said he would and ground the stump down one foot below the ground. I was thrilled. Very professional. I would give him an A+ if that was an option. He was fabulous and had the cheapest price of all the 3 estimates.

Intelligent and professional from the get-go. Came to give estimate and we were sold...he was knowledgeable, friendly, took notes, answered questions directly and fully. Crew and equipment arrived as promised; they knew exactly what they were doing. He wasn't inexpensive but I have had unsatisfactory experiences with those who thought they knew the business. This owner is top rate.

Well equipped and professional crew. Punctual for estimate and work dates; cut trees as tall as 40 feet and within 10' of our home, some with a diameter of 2'. Worked exactly as agreed. Left the property in excellent condition.
