Dave finished on time and within budget, and was always sure to communicate delays / potential problems in the progress of the project (these were all related to the availability of electrical contractors, etc for work that he himself does not do). He offered usual suggestions before the project was underway. He is trustworthy, considerate, CLEAN and very professional. We would definitely hire him for other projects around our house.
Description of Work: We hired Mr. Randlett based on the recommendation of our interior designer. We could not have been more pleased. The job wasn't small -- finish the remaining half of our basement, tear down and existing wall, installation of crown moulding and baseboards throughout, installation of a large storage closet, and decorative trim over boxed-in ducts and support beams. It was about a 6-week project.

From start to finish, the remodeling experience with Dave Randlett was outstanding. We discovered his work while dining and admiring the newly designed Mount Airy Tavern restaurant. The restaurant owner provided me with his number. I called Dave about a master bath remodel. He replied immediately, visited our home, and provided us with an estimate all within one week. Once we signed the contract and the work started, we couldn't have been more pleased. Dave provided us with his recommendations of places to visit to look at and select tiles, etc.; he even scheduled the appointments for us. Dave arrived on time every day until the job was complete, he was thoughtful and careful with non-construction areas (covering carpet with plastic), he communicated daily via phone and/or email with updates, and cleaned up all construction work at the end of each day. We loved the master bath so much that we asked Dave to update the hall bathroom as well. Without hesitation or question, we would hire Dave Randlett to complete future home renovation projects and highly recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Complete master bathroom remodel and guest bathroom update.

This contractor was an absolute DREAM to work with. He rigidly adhered to his schedule and provided us with a day by day schedule listing exactly what work would be performed on what day. And he came in a couple of days AHEAD of schedule. The contractor hired all his own subs, obtained all the necessary permits and inspections and went with us to pick out tile and fixtures. He was available to us 24/7 during the project. He kept the dirt and disruption to the house minimal. The contractor himself was on the job every day and there was never a day on which some work wasn't being done. You know how a lot of contractors start a job, then disappear for a couple of days while they're working on somebody else's job? This contractor didn't do that. He was at our house every day from start to finish. It was awesome. And best of all, the workmanship was outstanding. The rooms he redid are beautiful. We are hiring him to do our next projects as well. We gave him a key to the house during the construction and had no qualms about doing so. In fact, we really liked having him around during the day, keeping watch over our house!
Description of Work: Two bathrooms remodeled in an 85-year old house. The contractor did all the demolition and reconstruction. Plaster and tile removed, rooms taken down to the studs and floor joists. New floors installed, bathtubs and sinks installed, new showers, cabinets and toilets installed and new tiling done. Radiators removed, heat system installed in floor, closet rebuilt, repainting and finishing done.
