Jeff Mohler of Mohler and Gary Realtors helped me purchase a home last month. Jeff was quick to respond and help with every question or issue I had along the way. Buying a house is stressful enough and he made the process a lot easier on me. He was patient through the entire process and helped me find the place that was perfect for me. I am very happy that I hired Jeff and would recommend him to anyone.

I'm very happy with the result. We had a great experience with him. He's very personable. He knows the area around Catonsville and Southwestern Baltimore extremely well. He took all of our considerations into account when helping us find a home. He also has a good rapport with other agents in the area. We've referred him to friends.

I contacted Mohler and Gary via email prior to having a solid understanding of my timeline to move into the Baltimore Metro Area. I also contacted four other real estate companies (nationwide companies). In all five emails, I explained that I was moving to the BMA, that I didn't have a solid timeline, but I was looking for specific types of homes (description/highlights provided) in specific areas. I also provided general background information and my anticipated price range. Of the five agencies I contact, three didn't bother to respond and a "well known" company responded with a terse "brush off" telling me to contact them when I had a solid timeline. Mr. Gary from Mohler and Gary Realtors, a local company, responded with a professional email acknowledging my situation and informing me he would begin searches and would send me internet information on homes meeting my criteria. Within 4 hours, Mr. Gary had indeed sent me listings meeting my search criteria.
Over the course of three weeks, Mr. Gary and I shared a multitude of emails honing my search and reviewing listings. As I would send back a commentary of "likes" and "dislikes," Mr. Gary would update listings to meet what he saw as my preferences. I was also able to set up a future date to meet Mr. Gary in the BMA and look at some of the listing I had selected. No more than four days before Mr. Gary and I were to meet and look at homes, I found out my move would take me to another area of the BMA. When I contacted Mr. Gary to change my criteria, he responded immediately and flexed easily to my new criteria, changing the appointments for the next week and setting up no less than 18 listings for viewing over the course of two days. . . no small task.
I met Mr. Gary on a weekend to look at the selected properties. He was prompt, professional, and very easy to communicate with. After explaining to him my "no nonsense" approach to viewing homes, he rolled with my personality and we moved through properties promptly and without issue. Mr. Gary took it upon himself to point out features/highlights/concerns that I wasn't aware of - invaluable to me as a first time home buyer. Likewise, Mr. Gary took care to show me a few properties outside of my search criteria to show me a balance/counterpoint to what I thought I was looking for - again, invaluable insight for sake of comparison. Following our weekend viewings, I set up a follow on schedule with Mr. Gary to look at the properties I liked the following weekend. Again, Mr. Gary was prompt, professional, and ready to reassess the properties we had viewed the previous week.
When I settled on the property I was interested in and I informed Mr. Gary I was interested in making an offer, he walked me through the process from soup to nuts, really making the process clear. Meanwhile, I was able to communicate with my lending agent and Mr. Gary in concert to ensure both parties had all the information they needed to make the offer/buying process seamless. During the negotiation process, Mr. Gary was on hand for me at every turn, calling late into the evening to ensure I had a change to react to the sellers negotiation demands and meeting me "on the fly" to ensure we could finalize necessary paperwork in a timely fashion. He was also on hand to provide expert guidance on inspections and other nuances I was unaware of as a first time buyer. From the point the offer was accepted to the closing (+/- 2 months), Mr. Gary remained in regular contact with me, ensuring I didn't have any questions and generally being available for insight.
Needless to say, I am a pleased customer and a new home owner thanks to the expert handling of Mr. Gary/Mohler and Gary Realtors. A few nuances about Mr. Gary/Mohler and Gary Realtors approach that I appreciated as a buyer: (1) Mr. Gary didn't tell me what I wanted to hear. . . when something didn't look/sound/feel right, he was candid. If my desire to make something go quicker was to make a concession, he would lay out the pros and cons - no minced words - kind and honest. (2) From our initial contact, Mr. Gary was professional, helpful, and flexible. I never got the impression that his commission was his bottom line. I had the genuine impression he was intent on ensuring, as a buyer, I was purchasing the home I wanted. (3) As a small company, Mohler and Gary/Mr. Gary understood the value of/put a high value on reputation and personalized service. When Mr. Gary wasn't immediately available, Mr. Mohler was. I wasn't a number.
In closing, I highly recommend the services of Mohler and Gary Realtors. For every "name brand" that pops up on the TV screen or the internet, a company like Mohler and Gary really speaks to the best of small businesses and why they survive/endure over the years - professional, personalized service and a focus on good business.
