It was a positive experience. They gave us the best deal. There wasn't any funny business. Buying a car is a mess. They were good.

This is where we bought our car so we take it here for service. They are good. You can call the day you want it done and they will get you in there.

I like the service department. They are very prompt and the work area is neat and clean. I would even walk in sometimes and they are very quick.

Our car service contract (for which we paid extra) stated that my coverage was good for 72 months or 117,000 miles. w have currently had the car for 36 months and it is at 80,000 miles. The Sales Manager (who had sold us the car) claimed that the contract was void because the numbers were typos and the coverage ended at 75,000 miles. I talked to my attorney who said that this is illegal. We placed a call to the general manager who never returned our messages. Filed claims with the BBB and Attorney General's consumer affairs division. BBB says the situation is too complicated and is outside of their scope. Still waiting for Attorney General's help with this matter.
This is a business matter on our end, we paid for a contract and want it honored. Management at Koons Ford denied the legality of the contract which my attorney says is legal, plain and simple. The sales manager, who sold us the car and signed the service contract (and quot;typosand quot; and all) vowed that the contract would not be honored. The General Manager stated he is in full support of the Sales Manager and that this contract will never be honored.
I am so disappointed in this situation. When you have a signed contract from a dealership you believe it. When they won't honor it you can't believe it. When they turn verbally nasty on top of fighting a legally binding contract it is a sad thing indeed. We don't want this to happen to one more person so please be sure that the dealership from which you buy will treat you with respect from beginning to end.
We should have used Angie's List before buying my car. You can be sure we won't make that mistake again.

Koons Ford at Security has been a good experience. They are very friendly and professional. They took a look into the problem I reported and fixed it. They are very punctual and honest. The service technician even called me in the middle of the day to report his findings and the repairs. He also wanted to know if there was anything that needed to be check before he finished the work.
The service manager was also very nice and answered my questions.
The service team at Koons Ford Baltimore are really nice, professional, and respectful.

Last Friday night, my 2007 Mercury Milan lost acceleration when the gas pedal was pushed, and it limped home. Saturday, I contacted the nearest Ford dealer, Apple Ford, but they seemed too busy to diagnose and repair my car. When I called Koons Ford of Baltimore, J.P. said they could probably diagnose it, but it might not be till Monday that they fixed it.
Since that was a better deal, I had my car towed there on Saturday and got a call from J.P. saying they got the car. Soon thereafter, I was pleasantly surprised when he called to say they diagnosed it to be a throttle body part problem. I had told him about my extended car warranty, and he discussed the issue with them and found out half was covered and half wasn't. The latter required a total carbon flush out. They needed to order the part, but it should be there by Monday.
He informed me I needed to come in on Monday to sign the form to fax to my warranty company. Before receiving the part, they could get the carbon issue worked out, to save time, so that replacing the part would be the only remaining issue. J.P. called me on Monday when the full repairs were completed, and I ended up getting a rental, and Koons Ford was able to call the nearby Enterprise rental to pick it up, without me being present.
Koons Ford quickly faxed the signature/work order to the car warranty, so I was good to go in and lt;30 minutes. Total repair cost ~$1,000 w/ 1/2 being covered by warranty.
I went into detail because J.P. went above and beyond in keeping me informed, not over-promising but over-performing, and explained everything well. This is the way customer service is supposed to be, and it was much appreciated.
The only two things to have made it a perfect experience would've been: 1. wash the car afterwards (do dealers do this anymore?) and 2. have a loaner car to use, but I u/s those days might be gone.
Bottom line, Koons Ford and J.P. did a great job, and I would highly recommend them for car repairs.

When I called to make the service appointment, Steve was assigned as my advisor. He set up an appointment for me immediately, helped me arrange for early drop-off, and described the probable issue and the best and worst case scenarios for repair.
The next morning, he called early to tell me that the best case scenario was not to be, and gave me an estimate of how much the probable work to diagnose and fix the issue would cost. He gave me a time for completion, and called me at that time. He also thoroughly explained the problem and the steps taken to fix it.
The overall cost was exactly in line with his estimate, the warranty/recall work was done free of charge, and the car was clean. Checkout to pick up the car went smoothly, and everyone was polite and helpful from start to finish.
I have had several bad experiences with Ford dealerships in Charlotte,NC and Owings Mills, MD, and had stopped using a dealership unless it was absolutely necessary. Koons Ford in Windsor Mill, MD has completely changed my mind - I will go there for all of my service needs - as well as when I need a new car - and have already recommended them to a neighbor.

I got a great used car that I am happy with, for a happy price, and great customer service. They went out of their way to make up for the bad salesman and really won me over

- update - the dealership has refused to honor their service contract for the car and has turned quite nasty. I should have listened to my initial feelings when they pulled the bait and switch. So disappointed!
