We tried contacting Metropolitan Design/Build for several weeks, leaving voicemails, messages through the website and messages through Angie's list. We left at least a dozen messages. We never heard back from a single message even though we left our name, phone number and email address each time. Even attempts to get someone to just come give us an estimate went unanswered. We ended up having to pay another company to do the repairs. The initial process of getting our roof replaced seemed easy and straightforward at the time, but when we needed assistance, there was no one to be found. We absolutely would NOT recommend this company and we won't be doing anymore business with them.

They did a good job. They did it all in one day and cleaned up after themselves. They had a pretty big crew.

Job went very well. Recieved an estimate quickly. Once I signed the contract materials were delivered approximately a week later and job was completed quickly. Very positive experience.

They did everything they said they were doing to do. Everything went fine. Scheduling went well and they were responsive to me. One worker came out to do the work and took a couple hours to complete everything.

I had ceiling leaks for over a year which created water spots in various places in the ceiling.  Several contractors suggested it was the furnace/AC so I had multiple HVAC companies come in to look at the condensation lines/pan/etc.  They found nothing.  Metropolitan Design/Build came out and checked the roof and found hail and wind damage among other things that was causing the ceiling leaks.  Metro D&B got my job scheduled and finished very quickly.  They did excellent work, their staff is very helpful, and they also helped me work with my mortgage company on the paperwork necessary to get reimbursement for the roof.  If you want a trustworthy contractor that can do anything from roofing/siding/gutters to remodeling or additions, this is an excellent company for any of those. Metropolitan put on a new roof, siding, and gutters. The house looks great. Each crew was well trained in their specialty. The folks at Metropolitan couldn't have been easier to work with.

Obviously wanted my business and eager to give me entire satisfaction.  They readily agreed to do the work for the insurance estimate.  Work was delayed by rain then by other work that had been delayed ... annoying but it happens.  They did call me ahead of time to let me know of the setback, which I appreciate.
 I cannot meaningfully comment on the quality of the work as I know nothing about roofs or gutters.  It looks fine to me and the cleaning was thorough.

Omar and crew were great.  Omar spent lots of time evaluating my problem (water infiltration due to improperly installed flashing and siding) and explaining the solution.  His crew arrived when they said they would and did good work.  When, a couple of weeks later, I noticed an irregularity in the install Omar was out the very next day and took care of it.  His electrician also installed an exhaust fan in one of my bathrooms.  He, too, did a great job - minimal patching of the ceiling needed and very little mess.

There was a broken spot light on the garage and some debris left on the ground (nothing major). I contacted the company and the rep apologized  several times and gave me a $250.00 discount. I was not looking for a discount or did I expect one, it was offered. The sales rep Chris was very professional. In my opinion the weather was the big problem, it forced the crew to work very fast, not knowing if it was going to rain ( and it kept threatening to rain).

We have a small, flat roof on a bump-out over our dining room that had issues with ponding (standing water that doesn't drain into the gutter) ever since we bought the house 5 years ago. Last year we decided to get it replaced as a preventative measure against future leaks and roof damage. Our main requirement was to replace the roof with a slope so that water did not pool anymore. We got several quotes and Dave from Metropolitan Exteriors (no longer works there) was very nice and seemed quite knowledgeable. They were highly recommended by the Best Picks Report that comes in the mail, so we went with them.
Things seemed to be going smoothly with removing the existing roofing. On the second day, it was very hot, so Dave (understandably) had to quit for the day and said he would be back the following day.  He did not, however, cover the roof overnight. That night there was a strong storm that came through the area and buckets of water poured into the dining room. I was about 5 months pregnant at the time and my husband was out of town, but I was able to secure a tarp on the roof to minimize the amount of water streaming in to our dining room. luckily I had friends to help me move the furniture out of the room to avoid further damage.
Dave was very apologetic the next day and said he would fix everything (though they didn't respond to our request to replace the insulation). Dave fixed the drywall damage inside the house and resumed and completed repair on the roof. The next rainfall came and there was STILL pooling water on the roof. Jeff Thomas (the manager at Metropolitan) came out to take a look and sent some different guys out to add more slope to the roof like we originally wanted. However, instead of doing it the right way and removing the roofing material and starting over, they just layered on top of what was just installed, creating a large lip along the edges.  Though I wanted to make sure that this fix was working first, we went ahead and paid them for the job since our contract says we have a 10 year warranty on the work.
Now it is a year later.  There still seems to be pooling water on the roof  from time to time. From all of the rain this spring/summer, the dry wall tape in the dining room ceiling is peeling back and there are water spots on the ceiling, so there is obviously a leak somewhere (when we never had leaks in the first place!). On the roof, the asphalt material has large bubbles in it, so it is not adhering to the lower layer anymore (because of the quick-fix layering over what was already there). Both my husband and I have called Metropolitan and left multiple messages with people there but have been unable to get anyone to call us back (including Jeff Thomas) to talk to us and come out and look at the roof.
This has been an incredibly frustrating experience and I'm sorry that we ever decided to replace the roof since it wasn't even leaking in the first place like it is now.  We plan to report Metropolitan Exteriors to the Better Business Bureau as well and hope that they will do the right thing and honor their warranty by re-replacing our roof or refunding out money.
 

My Mom's house experienced damage in a storm and she lost a good deal of siding off of the side of her house.  The siding was 20 years old and couldn't be matched so we contacted Metropolitan who came right out to give us an estimate over the weekend.  They did a great job of working with the insurance company to get everything replaced. She also bought new windows and shutters to match the beautiful new siding and gutters that were covered by insurance. The job went very smoothly.  The crews arrived when expected and worked quickly and efficiently. The house looks fantastic, just like new! Since then I've started replacing my doors, and am considering other remodeling projects since they are full service and also do interior work.

Very professional company, very polite and I would definitely recommend them. I am considering getting my windows replaced and they immediately came to mind, given my previous experience with them.

I signed a contract in October and expected the work to commence within a month, but it took months for them to get to it.  They said they have a lot of hail damaged homes to fix, but they could have let me know a more realistic timeframe before signing the contract.  They took several months to finish a couple of little things that weren't right (some roof flashing, house numbers that were crooked, and some bent flashing that should have been replaced when the work was done).  Fortunately, I didn't pay them the full amount til everything was taken care of.  In the end, they did an excellent job - even the gutters match the color of the trim.  It looks great.  They cleaned up afterwards.  Just don't expect quick work.

Things went reasonably well. There were a couple of things that I didn?t like but I tend to be particular. I think, overall, they did fine.

The windows and work were both very satisfactory.

THE PRICING AND THE WORK WERE REALLY GOOD FOR THE AREA . YOU WOULD RECOMMEND THEM THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE. THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB AND DID IT IN A TIMELY MANNER.
