Steve arrived on time. He cleaned and serviced the fireplace (gas insert). Prior to the cleaning, we had some problem with back-draft bringing in smell of soot (?), but the smell is now mostly gone. He even promised to come back for more thorough cleaning in the winter if the smell persists.

The technician spent 5-10 minutes looking at the fireplace and the thermostat and said that there was nothing wrong with it. He said that the only option was to install a ($195) remote control digital unit (like they replaced 2 years ago!). I asked whether it was possible to get a more accurate hard-wired thermostat, but he said they can't do that since the manufacturer only authorizes their thermostats. He then charged me $90 for the service call.

He fixed my problem with pilot light going out, adjusted the logs (they were installed improperly), tested the gas pressure, installed doors that I ordered for the fireplace and also installed a remote. I was very pleased with this company all the way around.

One minor problem:
While the technician was there he told us that they don't take credit cards - checks only.
We had not been informed of that when we made the appt. I called the office, and they said
they would send us a bill - so it turned out not to be a problem.

Gave appt. time of 1-3 pm. called at 230 and said had one more job then us. Arrived 3:15 and finished service in about 30 minutes.

Fantastic... When I first called, I was afraid that no one would call me back because I got an answering machine... Surprise, the very nice lady on the phone called me back within 3 hours and scheduled an appt for the next day since they would be in our area (a Saturday.... which works much better). Casey arrived on time, was very polite and knowledgeable. After briefly looking at the unit and the manual (a manufacturer he was not familiar with) he completed the work quickly. He went on to help us by explaining maintenance and tips on how the unit works. Talked about their yearly maintenance services available. Completed the work quicker than anticipated... This fireplace is in our bedroom and he made sure that he kept the area clean by putting down a drop cloth for him to sit on... very professional. Casey didn't mind looking at the second fireplace system even though it was not discussed when I made the service call. Definitely would use again.

Wonderful experience. I had called 6 different companies that never called me back for this repair. When I called Hearth they answered the phone and scheduled me for work within a couple of days. Casey came out and was very thorough making sure the unit was operating correctly, he fixed the problem and was very clean and pleasant. He spent plenty of time showing me how to operate the unit correctly and only charged me for 1/2 hour of time. I will use them for all my gas fireplace repair needs.

The representative was very professional. He gave me an overview of the work required but he did not emphasize the obvious errors made by the installer. I will use this company for annual maintenance.

WE CALLED A LOCAL COMPANY HEARTH PRODUCT SERVICES WHO FOUND A LOOSE TERMINAL, CORRECTED THIS AND ADJUSTED THE PILOT UP, AFTER THIS REPAIR FIREPLACE WORKED PERFECT
