When my wife and I moved to Westminster from out of state, I was extremely leery of purchasing new construction, as I had to sue the builder of our previous home in another state for faulty workmanship and it was a nightmarish procedure that stretched over the course of two years. We saw the house we eventually bought from Paulco under construction, stopped and walked in. Paul Patrone, the owner of the company, was inside the house working. My wife was interested in the house but I was still not sold as a result of my past experiences with contractors, and I told Mr. Patrone so. He was very professional and allowed us to look around, showed us the features of the house without applying a hard sell or putting any pressure on us. We eventually bought the house. We have lived in the house for three years and I cannot find a single defect worth mentioning - even the screws holding electrical switchplates to the wall were screwed in such that the slots in the screws were straight up and down. The furnace, air conditioning units are top-notch, and the carpeting and fixtures are not cheap builders grade. Landscaping and sales were professionally done without any problems. It is a first-rate house and I am doing something I thought I would never find myself doing - recommending a home contractor. By the way, prior to buying the house, I went to Lowe's and Home Depot in Westminster and asked employees there if they knew of Mr. Patrone and Paulco, and they all said he was a good builder who did not build junk.
