Legendary Home Services

A few years before we put in the deck we had trees removed from that same area.  I was concerned about the roots when digging the post holes.  It was a non-issue for Walt and his crew.  The post holes were dug, inspected and approved without incident.  Framing went up quickly.  Walt wasn't happy with the quality of the deck boards he saw at the "big box" lumber stores.  He found some, higher quality, ones at a local lumberyard.  Price was a little more, but I was familiar with the local yard and trusted both them and Walt. 


Since the deck was over 35 feet long Walt also suggested a different layout for the deck boards.  One that the boards would meet at a smoother junction allowing for less cuts and a uninterrupted walk way.  We are very pleased with the plan.


We had some issues with the permitting and inspections.  They were, most part with the timing and coordinating of approvals.  We had to do some minor bracing adjustments but nothing that added additional costs to the project.  I was extremely thankful that Walt handled this part.  He had the patience for it, I didn't.

I have had Walt do work for me before on my old house.  The old deck on my newly purchased home was an eyesore.  The new one looks amazing.  I think the quality of the work is exceptional and you could probably park a truck on the new deck.  I have recommended Walt to several friends who have also had work done and are very satisfied.

It honestly went great.  I had never used Angieslist before.  I called a few companies and Walt at Legendary Home Services was the only person that answered the phone the same day i called, while finishing up another job.  He stopped by the very next day to take a look at what we started (we already did most of the demo ourselves).  He took measurements and pictures and within 1-2 days had emailed us a very detailed quote that was right in line with another quote we had done by a non licensed, non insured do it yourself person.  We want ahead and used Legendary Home Services and were glad we did.  He informed us of when he would start and gave a detailed contract outlining the start date, finish date, proper payments and everyones expectations.  Walt was helpful even prior to the job starting by helping us over the phone pick and choose proper fixtures.  From the very beginning of the job Walt and his brother Dave were very professional, very clean and very hard workers.  They treat your house like you would treat your house and cover the floors when taking things out, always cleaning up every day, and letting you know what the next day will entail.  I have learned over the years that many companies have the know how to complete these jobs, but it takes the extra 10% professionalism to take a company to the next level and that is Legendary Home Services.  You do not have to worry about them not showing up, not answering their phone and not having the where with all to keep the customer in the loop of things.  They finished on time and the bathroom looks great.  It was a lot of work and my wife and I are glad we did not try to attempt this ourselves, seeing how much work Walt and Dave did.  We will definitely be using them in the future for our next bathroom, as well as many other project's, since they pretty much do it all!!!   Once again, a very pleasant experience.

The complete job took several weeks. It started with a demo of the old bathroom. Walt and Dave quickly removed all of the demolished material from the house premises.  They were very open to all of our suggestions and worked with us as a team. Their construction involved bringing in the plumber and electrician at the appropriate stages of construction in a timely manner.
Throughout their work they gave particular attention to cleaning up at the end of each day.
Our neighbors and friends have raved about the high quality of  workmanship and overall exquisite style of the bathroom. Definitely an A+ job!

Delivered all promised work. When he discovered that one part of the job could not be executed as planned he took care of it within the original estimate.

Walt and his brother were great!  They were professional, friendly, and their work was outstanding.  The house looks beautiful and the price was fair for the work done. This is the second major project that they have done at our home, and both jobs were well done. They cleaned up the property and came back to make sure everything was working properly.  A-1 service and absolute professionalism. We highly recommend them, and I am sure we will be using them again.

I hired Legendary Home Services to finish my basement after reading all the positive reviews on Angie's List.  They did not disappoint!
Walt the owner came out to assess my needs, and within 2 days responded with a very detailed, professional estimate which included individual line items for all of the required jobs.  This allows me to see and understand the work and costs involved for each item.  Much more useful than just a total dollar amount provided by most companies.  Who knows what they're charging you for.
Walt and the guys that work with him are fantastic.  He pays great attention to detail and the quality of his work is excellent. My basement was unfinished and he built a large rec room, full bath, and completed the stairs.  He keeps the work area neat and tidy after each day too.

Walt and his brother, Dave came to fix our basement bathroom. They tore out some of the existing bathroom fixtures and had to jackhammer the shower drain pipe to replace it with a suitable drain for our new shower pan. Then they drywalled the walls and installed the shower pan, shower walls, inset shampoo shelf, shower curtain rod, vanity, toilet, vanity light and mirror. We were pleased with the work done, but there were some minor issues that we noticed and Walt came back to fix the issues. Walt and Dave were courteous and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. It is a little difficult to get in touch with them but we plan on using their services again.

We sure struck it lucky when we found Walt (Legendary Home Services). He arrives promptly & reliably, is efficient, competent and reasonably priced. He takes obvious pride in his work and it shows. His work and his estimates are meticulous. He's responsive to our needs and listens to what we want done. We're very pleased and highly recommend him.

Walt came out to give us an estimate, he was on time, professional and a good listener.  We had a hot tub on the main deck and wanted to move it to a new area.  We had a rough idea of what we wanted and with that Walt was able to draw up a plan.  Once we signed a contract Walt was able to get the ball rolling.  There was an issue with the permit in that there was an open fence permit from the previous owner of this house so they wouldn't give Walt the permit that day.  I was able to resolve it quickly so we only lost a couple days Walt and Dave began work knowing that we were planning a party and that we were hoping they could at least get the decking on so that people could use that entrance of the house.  Between the permit loss of days and some rain days I was nervous but they were able to have the decking on for the party!  My husband and I had a mis-communication on the smaller deck that holds the hot tub and Walt was very patient in explaining why he needed to build that deck a certain way.  My husband came around and is very happy with the results.  We also ask for a couple last minute changes to the smaller deck, more railing and to add steps and Walt was very accommodating.
Walt was recommended by my boss who is a neighbor of Walt and I am very glad we chose Legendary Home Services to build the deck.

They did great job.Alway were on time and kept me touch . Also save me money when they could. Plan to use in spring  for remodel new deck and sunroom.

The fence is beautiful.  All of my neighbors and family have commented on the fence and the excellent workmanship.   The one neighbor stated how meticulous the company was when installing the fence.  The men were prompt and the men were super!!  You couldn't ask for more responsible, diligent and honest work in this day and age!!  I am extraordinarily impressed and pleased.  From set up to clean up, they maintained superior performance!

Excellent! This was my first experience using Legendary Home Services and I've used them again since to build my deck. They arrived early in the morning as stated and were finished by the time I arrived home from work that afternoon. Couldn't have asked for a better team! They even showed my husband the basics of installing laminate flooring which was a plus!

The overall experience was great! There were no issues during the process and the deck was completed in a timely manner, they are very efficient.

The experience overall was very positive, the price was extremely competitive (Especially when considered against some other options like "Those Basement Guys" or "Long Basements"), the quality of the workmanship is outstanding, and the timeline of about 7 weeks from start (getting quotes, materials, construction) to finish (punch-out work, final payment) with everything (including our requests for modification during construction) was about perfect for execution. After we painted the finished product and did some of our own modifications, Legendary Home Services came back after the fact to do some adjustments and punch-out work that we wanted done. I would highly recommend Legendary Home Services for any home improvement needs, and we will be contracting with them again in the future to do a few more things that we want done before the house is finally considered complete by us.
