AROCON Roofing & Construction

Went great. They actually showed up a day before they were scheduled, which was a surprise, but a welcome one. Work went according to plan, and both the estimator and workers were great to deal with.

I contacted this company for an estimate for installing a new roof. The sales person that came out to my home was very professional and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions . He took pictures and was very detailed about the installation process. On the day of installation, the roofers arrived as scheduled. They replaced plywood and shingles. They left yard clean and free of nails and debris. I am very pleased with my new roof. I would definitely recommend this company.

The estimator was professional. He clearly explained the source of my siding problem - it had not been installed properly by the previous contractor. He even found an area of the siding with the same issue that I had not seen before. The foreman called within a few days of the contract signing, and we set a date. The work was done on time, and I am pleased with the result. I will definitely use them again.

Arocon did a great job from providing the initial estimate, to completing this small job, and follow-up once the job was completed. I particularly found Larry, the rep that came out to provide the initial estimate, professional, thorough and honest. I would definitely use Arocon again, but would recommend that they be a little less assertive in pursuing cutsomers to follow-up with reviews on Angie's List.

Update (February 2016): The ceiling on the porch was coming apart and one post was deformed. We called Arocon to come to inspect it and let us know what should be done to fix it. After several a call and several e-mails over 12 days, Jeff came to inspect it and he fixed it at no cost to us. He was very professional and we are pleased with the result. Update (December 2013): 9 months after the deck was completed, we received a letter from the county stating that the electrical final inspection had never being requested and thus not done. We had to deal with it and despite contacting AROCON, they did not even bother responding to our e-mails. This created anxiety as we were wondering if we had pay extra to fix it if it did not pass inspection. Luckily it passed. (update March 2013) They responded fast when we called them to perform warranty work about 1 month after the deck was completed. (initial report February 2013) Overall, we think that the workers hired by Arocon do a great job but the managers of the projects are not up to the task. Basically, we had to manage the project to a certain extent, by directing the workers on what was needed and how we wanted it, and remind them the various steps needed, such as when to select colors, or where to place the light. It was exhausting having this project with Arocon, even if we admit that the porch (minus some details - they do not pay attention to details) came out nice. Thus we would not hire them again. When we called for an estimate, Eric Consuegra came and we found him very knowledgeable and agreeable to follow our requests, such as rendering the exterior of the porch maintenance free or using our existing door. He helped obtain the necessary working permit (cost not included in the estimate). Then it was decided that due to personal reasons the work will start 2 months later. At that point we had a walk through with Adam Sharretts who would be the job manager assigned to our project. He seemed personable, but he does not listen to our needs and does not communicate well with the workers. The management of projects is very bizarre at Arocon, over the duration of the project, we were handed off to several persons, Mike, Jason, Sean, Mary? This made it confusing for us. The demolition started as scheduled, but then a job that we were made to believe should take about 1 week took over 5 weeks (obviously they were not working every day.. some were delays were due to waiting for the inspectors), nevertheless it seemed long to us. Meeting with Adam was very difficult as he refused several times to accommodate our schedule to meet with us in person - when we perceived problems and misunderstanding on the project. He prefers communication by e-mail; this is fast but not effective when there are issues. We had to micro-manage the crew to get what we needed. One example, we finally were able to meet with Adam on a Saturday and we discussed the details including the type of railing. On Monday, we had to stop the workers (luckily we were home) as they were doing the railing wrong and attaching them before they were painted (with the screen already installed, it would be hard later to paint them at all!). We discussed the placement of the light and the cord placed in the wrong place. We assumed that the light/fan would be installed with the same features as we had before, but we were wrong, now we do not have a dimmer for the light and we cannot operate the fan and light separately unless we have two chains hanging down, not what we wanted and not what we had. To rectify the situation we would have to demolish the ceiling. We gave up!! Again Adam did not listen when we explain that to him. Overall, we think that the workers hired by Arocon do a great job but the managers of the projects were totally inept. They consider that they are in constant contact with us by calling us and e-mailing us with non-important items, such as asking if they could install the gutters on a Tuesday. Why ask as they did not need entrance to the house? But when the electrician needed to come, they did notify us and thus there were issues as he could not test the lights (breaker off). He had to come back and could not accommodate our request as it was too late (redo the ceiling). Even providing us with the invoice was a struggle, they had to do it twice and we had to spoon feed them to ensure that only legitimate charges were on it. To get the original building permit for our records, it looked like were asking for the moon. Definitely issues with the management. Thus we would not hire them again.

This is the 3rd time I have used Arocon and won't be the last. I was extermely impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. They were very punctual and did a great job keeping me informed. I have had so many experiences with roofer when they don't show up for appointments or are hours late, so it was really nice knowing I could count on them to be there when they said they would be. The quality of work is great and they keep a clean job site. They pricing is very reasonable. Overall a great experience.

They did a pretty good job. Everybody on the team was very nice. They were good communicators. They were nice, upfront and professional. My only complaint was that they had a subcontractor come to put in insulation when the roof was done and one of them stepped through the ceiling so it was a huge mess. They were not that hot. They sent teenagers to do the patch and they didn't do such a great job. Arocon was very good about coming in after that and getting everything straightened out. It was a pretty good price. I think I would use them again but I don't know if I would recommend them to somebody that was very picky. They do nice work for a reasonable price but it is not top notch.

The problem is with their delivery that will not take care or will not responsibles for our driveway or sidewalk's damaged ! We won't give any good comments about a company that won't stand by their word. They are really supposed to take care of our driveway & sidewalk's damage but they won't take responsibilty. I just wish that I had gone with a different company, I wish I could get my money back . We have no idea what to do right now. We can't afford a lawyer to sue. We just don't know what to do ... We are thinking about to report it to few different kind of business company to file for to complaints or to reports like BBB ( Business Better Bureau & etc ) about the Arocon Roffing & Alside Supply Center that we can think of . We really wish that we could get our money back so we can fix our driveway & sidewalk. That would be nice. I think it's up to that company to get to the bottom of who damaged our property and hold them responsible and if they're leaving the customer to hold the bag, that's not very good business practice.

We signed the contract in September 2012. The work didn't start until November 2012. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Materials were not ordered when they should have been. Parts of the shower were messed up and had to be redone. And now it is almost done but it is not worked on unless I call and complain. WE were told it would be done in December and then January. What a joke.

My roof needed work because of the wind and severe weather we had been having so I contacted Arocon for a free estimate after reading about them on Angie's List. From the first call I made customer service was fabulous! Sarah and Marty were wonderful they answered all of my questions and got me scheduled right away for my initial estimate. Let me say this, whenever you are replacing your roof ask for a repair and a replacement estimate. That way you can decide what your options will be especially if you are on a budget. I was paying for this on my own and I had no help whatsoever, so this was and still is a very important step for me as a home owner. So when my initial estimate took place it did not go to well because the guy that came out refused to give me an estimate for a repair. He would only give me an estimate for a replacement even after I asked him repeatedly for an estimate for a repair. He still refused and I called Arocon back to complain, which was odd to the staff at Arocon because they couldn't even understand why this happened. Nonetheless, they apologized and rescheduled me for another free estimate. This time my estimate was completed by one of the owners, Mr. Eric Consuegra who called me personally. He is AMAZING!! He explained EVERYTHING in detail and was very patient with me because I had a lot of questions. He explained everything from different types of roofing materials and what their functions were, 3-tab shingles vs architectural shingles, the process, the weather needed to perform the job, how temperature affects the materials, material colors, HOA issues, the warranty, what would work for a repair vs a replacement, who would be completing the job, pictures of recent jobs completed by Arocon, and by doing so he taught me a very valuable lesson about what to look for when repairing or replacing your roof. He was also willing to work with me to give me an amazing deal on my roof which was right in my budget. This is what I was looking for in a roofing contractor, someone who was patient, professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about roofing. This was the main reason why I stayed with Arocon even after the little misunderstanding with my initial estimate, and also because I researched and reviewed other roofing companies who just simply fell short. Their prices were too high and they were not personable like Arocon. As for the process, Mr. Consuegra and his staff of, Marty, Sarah, Mike, and Jason stayed in constant contact with me every step of the way, from taking care of my HOA, to scheduling changes, to delivery of materials, to my constant calling, to the completion of my roof. They even worked around my schedule. My roof was completed in one day and the gentlemen who completed my roof Denny, Kevin, and their crew were awesome! The arrived on time and were professional and courteous through the entire project. They started my roof early in the morning and finished around 4:00pm. After it was completed Mr. Consuegra came back out and did my post inspection and provided me with pictures of my new roof, which he could have gotten anyone from Arocon to do but he did it himself anyway. I can't stress how important it is to have a contractor that listens and is willing, without fall to answer every phone call, every text message, and every email no matter what your questions maybe and that is what Arocon did for me hands down without any reluctance whatsoever. I am extremely happy with the job and my roof is so beautiful! I am glad I choose Arocon as my roofing contractor and I will definitely work with them again in the near future!!!! A++++!!!!

I reached Arocon through Angie's list in February and setup a time on March 8 for an estimate on replacing rotting wood outside of my home. Chet Haifley came out and said I would receive an email with an estimate. After a week or so I called Arocon and they said they would remind him to send me the estimate. It is now March 31 and I never heard anything further.

This was one of the best home improvement experiences. Chad promptly came out for an estimate and among the 3 companies that I asked for an estimate, he made the best impression. He was very detail-oriented, made suggestions about what exactly to fix; which shingled to use etc. The price was very competitive. On the day of the job, work crew was quick, thorough, and very clean. Debris was at a minimum, and there was no damage to the surrounding landscaping. I would use them for another job. I found them very easy to work with.

When I called for a new roof estimate, it was the busy season for all roofing companies after hurricane Sandy. I contacted 7-10 companies found on Angie's list, but only 4 got back to me. Arocon is one of them. They have the best price and very good past reviews. It was very pleasan working with Eric and his staff. They perform quality work and ask questions when necessary. After the roof was replaced, I hired them back to put in new sky lights, now the house looks so nice. They are also very patient to answer my questions, as this is the first roof I ever replaced. After this job, I contacted Eric for roof estimate when I bid a house. He provided information at a lightning speed. Very helpful.

Prompt with free estimate however short on follow up.

The estimator was courtesy. The work crew arrived on time, worked quietly and diligently. Professional and swift. They cleaned up nicely after they were done. The new gutters look great and, after several recent rain storms, work flawlessly. I had two other companies from Angie's List come out for estimates (all worthy as well), but decided to go with AROCON. They also had a 3-year warranty, which is more than the others.

11/1/12: Arocon replaced my roof and built a deck in the spring/summer of 2011 w/ a 10-year guarantee. After Hurricane Sandy, I experienced several leaks throughout my house, so I called them to come out to look at the roof and fix. I called several times, I emailed, but received NO RESPONSE at all. I only put that I would use them again because they guaranteed their work and should live up to that and get back to me. I spent THOUSANDS with them for my roof/deck and I hope they are not avoiding me. Very frustrated by their lack of response. 4/29/13 UPDATE: After posting on Angie's List, Arocon contacted me to schedule time to come back out to look at the roof. They did and noted some sort of "clause" in an agreement about their work not being covered for "Hurricane" instances. That got me wondering, but they agreed to "re-caulk" the skylights and other additional problem areas on the roof. Additionally, they kept insisting that a crack in my formstone was causing the leaks. However, their guy who came out actually found a leak in the roof -- and that makes sense since formstone is really just a layer on top of the original brick and regardless of cracks, couldn't have caused an inside leak. After today's rain, I'm not detecting leaks, but will certainly keep an eye on them and will post what I see. The bottom line is that prior to having them re-do my roof, I had not experienced severe leaks like I was seeing and/or bad water stains on my ceilings at the time of owning my home for 5+ years.

Contractor arrived on time had job done in 2days. Cleaned up after themselves

We had a really pleasant and professional experience with AROCON Roofing. We are selling our house and though we have maintained our roof over the years, the home inspection report required us to have our roof inspected and have all necessary repairs made. We had a very short window in which to have roofers come out to provide an estimate and make repairs because our house was going to settlement soon. AROCON put us on the schedule right away (I believe I called them as they were closing on a Friday night), they sent me a couple of emails to confirm the appointment, and they were prompt when they showed up to provide the estimate. They were more than fair in their assessment of what needed to be done and we agreed to have them come back out and make the repairs. Again, the repairs had to be done before our house settled and this was just ahead of Christmas, but they did a great job of putting us on the schedule, knowing the constraints we were facing. Once they came out to perform the repairs, they found some additional work that needed to be done. They performed that work at no extra charge, for which we were quite thankful. To be sure, our slate roof needed some minor maintenance and repairs, but since we were moving, we were looking to have what needed to be repaired get done and not have someone sell us a bill of goods. I should mention that some other contractors came out and barely looked at our roof and provided estimates for repairs much more costly than AROCON. I cannot say enough good things about the company, the quality of their work, and especially the friendliness and professionalism of everyone I talked to and everyone who came out to perform the work. Though we are building a new house, and certainly hope not to have any issues with our new roof, I brought their business card with me should I ever need to contact them again. Highly, highly recommend this wonderful company!

From the first to the last day, the installation went smoothly. Deliveries, quality of work, and clean up at the end of each day was well performed. The above paragraph covers the details for the installation. But not mentioned was the full installation had a plan. Work was performed and handed off to the next crew. Don't get the impression that each crew was only concerned about their own installation. All of the crews worked as a team. They communicated with each other and their were no surprises when the handover occurred.

Our roof was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. I contacted Arocon the day after the storm and they were able to have a Sales Rep come to our home within a few days. Chad was very thorough and spent a lot of time with my husband and I explaining the different types of shingles and the scope of work we needed done. We were given a quote the same day and the price was very reasonable. We did have a few scheduling issues but other than that everything went smoothly. The roofing crew was FANTASTIC! They cleaned up everything and did a wonderful job on our new roof. The actual cost of the work done was the exact price of the quote which was great too!

They were lower in price than other companies who gave us an estimate. The crew they sent did a great job. They replaced the shingles and flashing and even asked me to come up and check out their work which I did. The leaks stopped immediately. I had an issue with some soft plywood later and although this should have been fixed with the shingles, they apologized and came back out and replaced that as well for just the cost of the material. We have referred them to other neighbors.

After a few scheduling problems the work was done beautifully. The owners of the company responded quickly and appropriately to our issues with scheduling. They came out to our house to check on the work being done and made sure that it was completed in a timely fashion. The metal roof repair came out great and the drywall work was complimented by the painter who followed them. It is nice to use a company where the owners can be contacted and check on the work being completed.

Overall the job was excellent. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and friendly. The team that removed my roof were very fast and did a quality job. Tarped anything that could be damaged by loose material falling to the ground. Everything was cleaned up each day before they left the job. Ran magnets around the house perimeter frequently to pick up any nails that may have dropped to the ground. The technicians that installed the roof were experts at the work they had to do.. They explained each day what they were going to do. Roof looked great when they were finished. The only problem encountered came when my gutter guards were re-installed, they did not go back on the way they were on to start, I had to have new guards put on.Which again was done very fast and well by the company team. My only issues with AROCON was getting a response from someone when I called with a question. Would take as many as two tor four calls to speak with the person I needed. The other issue was with the 10 % off coupon they have in the Angies list booklet for subscribers to Angies list. After I received their bid for the job I ask about the coupon. Was told that the discount had already been applied, they did not know that I was a list member untill I asked for the discount. If that is the case then what is the point of the coupon in the Angies list booklet. Those issues aside I feel they did an outstanding job on my roof and highly recommend the company. I am working with them on an addition to my house at this time.

They did a great job. A neighbor of mine, her neighbor, and a son of hers have also used them. Everybody has been happy. Their price was so much below everybody. I got a top grade shingle with that. They put metal flanges all around too which other people had not talked about. They put new chimney rubber seals down to make all tight. They cleaned up well, and they worked hard to do it all in one day.
