Independent contractor Bill Gray came to our home for a home inspection representing the buyers. While I understand that it is his job to go through the house and point out any problems, I found this man to be rude and he scared the buyers so badly that they walked out of the contract. Frankly, he intimated that I lied about our roof having been replaced ten years ago. We did have several bad storms this past winter and we may need to do some roof repair, however, we do not need an entirely new roof (as indicated by another contractor) and the repairs are minimal. In addition, he made it seem as if the issues with the house were insurmoutable and not even worth discussing to continue the contract. Frankly, if I ever saw this man again, I would give him a piece of my mind. It is not the job of the inspector to scare the buyers, but to point out issues that can be resolved during a negotiation between buyers and sellers. I don't think that any of the issues in his report would have been a problem for us to rectify, but we were never given the opportunity to do so since the buyers were so spooked by the report.
