 + 3 moreThe owner, Joe Bianco, is very pleasant. We met to review the many tasks on my list (which grew even as he worked). Joe then tackled the jobs in the order that I requested. Because I had a number of small items, Joe worked on a time and materials basis. I was quite satisfied with the quality of the work and Joe was very conscientious. He always came when he said he would and kept his promises. I would heartily recommend him and will use him again.
Description of Work: SDG provided a number of different home repair services for me over the summer as I worked on preparing my 20 year old house for sale. All manner of tasks were involved from demolishing and rebuilding a new set of exterior steps, to replacing a bathroom floor, to repairing wallboard, and adding exterior and interior trim.

custom cabinets
 + -1 moreJoe met us promptly on our first meeting. We presented a sketch to give him an overall idea of the job. He then asked several questions on the design and layout. Topics included the desire to match the existing trim in the house. Over the next several days he contacted us via email to complete the estimate. Once the estimate was accepted and contracts signed he provided an estimate start date. The cabinets were constructed off site and installed. All final trim was installed at site. Joe and his assistant did an excellent job an left the job site spotless each day until complete.
Description of Work: Joe designed, built, and installed a custom entertainment system. The overall system was approx. 11' wide by 8' high. It included 2 bookcases, with a base cabinet centered between the bookcases and bridged top. The unit was constructed of paint grade materials and cabinet grade plywood.

 + -1 moreJoe Bianco came quickly, and gave an estimate for the job, start date and finish date. His estimate was reasonable, professionally projecting the extra cost from subcontractors. On site when these subs were working and made sure no addition cost were done with out my approval. I now have one beautiful apartment and appreciate the craftsmanship and talent Joe has and would not hesitate to let any one come and see his finished work. i highly recommend SDG Home Solutions. I will send pictures later.
Description of Work: Remodeling a 1961 basement into a in law apartment. Work started by another contractor who botch the job and left me with a mess. Several contractor's came and took one look and rolled their eyes. Though I said I was on a tight schedule. Most said they couldn't start for weeks. Joe Bianco came saw the mess and said I can fix this and make it what you want. He did not lie. It's perfection!

 + -1 moreJoe reviewed our plans and special needs and developed an installation plan. I thought the complexity of the plan would take weeks to complete. Surprisingly, Joe completed the work in 4 days!
Description of Work: Joe installed a hardwood balcony railing and spiral staircase. The connection of the railing to the factory cut spiral handrail was an extremely difficult job and I knew I needed a true craftsman to make the proper tie-in. Joe did a superb job!

custom cabinets
 + -1 moreJoe arrived to measure & discuss design. When all was agreed to, he built the cabinets in his shop &, when completed, delivered & installed them. They fit perfectly. The final finish was applied & he returned in a day or two to ensure a perfect finish! He measures twice & cuts once!
Description of Work: Joe built a custom size & design hardwood (cherry) cabinet with 4 doors, 2 shelves, & electrical & phone outlets. The stain & hand finish is immaculate! He even designed & built-in support brackets for the granite countertop. An exquisite job!
