Since I can't cut & paste the letter I sent to David Blank, the brief explanation is:
This company was recommended from my neighbor.  They did a great job on his house 2 years prior which is why I used them.
They "replaced" our roof. After a heavy rain 3 months later, water leaked through the bathroom vent and stained the upstairs bathroom ceiling. After an extremely hard/heavy rain, water leaked onto the bathroom floor (water had to be coming in at a great rate, otherwise, the attic insulation would soak it up and there would be no evidence on the bathroom ceiling, so it was probably leaking immediately after the "repairs").  Also, visible from the outside, I noticed that the ridgevent was "buckling". They were out three (3) times over the course of 2 months to try to repair the leak - each time, they showed up without contacting me - until the 3rd time.  I showed their representative precisely where the leak was in the attic (I was informed that they were "fixing" something else entirely).  They were supposed to return in 2-3 days and never showed for over a week. After another major rainfall, water was pouring into buckets in the attic and I completely lost trust with this company.  After having another roofing company inspect the roof, I found out that the bathroom vent was never replaced - it was actually damaged from their roofing work.  The 3 vent collars that were replaced were the wrong size. The complete ridgevent system was installed incorrectly - they used 1 1/2" nails instead of the required 3" nails so the ridgevents were never secured properly into the plywood, which is why it kept "buckling". There were exposed nailheads all over the roof, and the gutters were overloaded with pieces of shingles, staples, and other debris (the gutters were never cleaned).  I had PJ's roofing correct this disaster over 3 months ago (they installed the correct size pipe collars, replaced the bathroom vent, replaced the ridgevent system and installed the required filter, sealed the exposed nail heads, and cleaned the gutters.  My attic has been "bone-dry" and the ridgevent system perfectly straight since. My guess is that an inexperienced crew was used to perform our roof replacement and that they never had adequate/proper supervision. These repairs cost me $1225.00 and I asked for that amount from David Blank - he has never responded.
He was a real friendly, nice guy when picking up the checks from me, but apparently didn't care enough to make sure the job was done properly.

The roof replacement project went perfect from the beginning until completion.

There was excellent communication with the owner, David Blank, as well as his expert employees.
Listed below are my specific compliments of the owner and this company:

They showed up on time. Everyone was skilled in their profession and very helpful in answering any and all questions I posed.

The yard and premises were keep clean during the entire construction period.  There were no nails or debris left in the yard at the end of each day.  There was an extra special process at the end of the project to make 150% sure no nails, debris or litter was left in shrubs, lawn or garden beds adjoining the house.

This company is certainly a class act.  I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best roofer I've ever worked with and, I am a professional property manager.

He is very good. He cleaned up the debris and took away all the old stuff. He checked for nails on the ground and even found a few. He is a little dirty but he did a good job.
