I use Orkin for pest control. They are fine. I had termites in my home and my back fence. I'm still termite free. I'm considering them to do insulation in my attic. They show up and do what they got to do. I had them come out and do an inspection last month. They come by and do twice annual inspections.
I moved into my home on the 7th of May and contacted Orkin that same day to setup the first treatment as it seemed that there were a lot of bugs that had taken over in the Short Sale we purchased. I asked if they had any time available the following day prior to us moving in all of our furniture. The representative on the phone said that she wasn't sure, but she would give the information to the local Maryland office and that they would give me a call later with their earliest time available.
2 days go by with no call from Orkin. I called back and was fortunate enough to get the same representative who I spoke with earlier. She remembered me and appolgized that no one had called me. She assured me that she forwarded my information again and that my local office will call me soon. 3 more days go by - still no call. I call again, and reach the same representative. I can tell that she is upset that no one has called me back. She transfers my call this time so I can speak with the office myself.
In speaking with the local office. The lady apologized for not calling me and said that she had my paperwork, but just hadn't gotten around to calling me yet. She finally was able to set me an appointment slot from 8-12 on the 16th of May. I coordinated with my work to take the morning off in order to be home for the appointment.
at 12pm on the 16th, after no one had come for my appointment, I called Orkin, and was transferred to the local office. The lady remembered me and said that she forgot to put my appointment on the schedule for the tech. We were able to set another appointment at 5pm, after I would be able to return from work.
In the end the appointment went OK. I had pulled everything out of my kitchen cabinets so the tech could spray in them. I remembered from my first treatment in Texas, that this needed to be done, and I had double checked with the lady on the phone to see if this needed to be done. When the tech arrived he told me that he wasn't allowed to and quot;over spray.and quot; so he wasn't able to spray in my cabinets that I spent about an hour cleaning out and covering everything on the tables and counters. Payment was the same that I was accustomed to in Texas - fair.
I believe there is something seriously wrong with Orkin's computer systems. They told me that the reason it was so difficult to make an appointment for me, is that my information was not showing up in their computer as a transfer yet. The office lady told me that it could take up to a month to transfer my information.
After calling the office back to try to start up regularly scheduled services, the lady mentioned that I still wasn't in the system yet, and I should try back next month. She also mentioned that if I am still not in the system, I can just schedule another one time treatment.
Well..... The month is up (45 days actually). Im still not in the system. I called Orkin to schedule a treatment and received the same message that the local office will contact me to set their first available appointment. That was last week, and I still haven't gotten a call back.
I do believe that Orkin techs are very well trained and they use good products, but you have now lost a customer who once praised your name. I hope that this customer service (none at all, the customer does all the work) is remedied.
There are many offices in the area, but the address of this office is stamped at the top of my receipt from the 1 service I received from them.
Orkin's call center was informative and explained the service options we could have. they also scheduled the appointment the very next day which is exactly what we wanted. They also were able to schedule a later afternoon appointment which was much more convinient for us because we both work.
Rashad from Orkin was there the next day after we called. He was polite and answered all our questions. he search the outside and inside of the house including the garage and attic. He spent about 2 hours performing this service, checking behind cabinets and all the rooms. He was able to locate two potential entry points that we had not discovered. He filled these holes and laid out 4 more traps for us in the garage and explained what we should do over the next week to monitor the situation.
We felt that Orkin was thorough and professional. Rashade was polite and answered all the questions we had. He did not rush his appointment with us. We felt that although the service was a little more expensive than 2 other local pest controls we called, the thoroughness of the service and Orkin's willingness to try and locate and actually locate two potential points of entry. Also the service comes with a 30 day warranty so if we see any more mice they will come out immediately to retreat for free.
