Technician found nothing wrong, just did a general tune up. Problem reoccurred a few days later. We ended up buying a new computer.

There was no charge for it. They are very reasonably priced.

Dropped my desktop off with the Best Buy Geek Squad, 16 Jul 10, due to an issue with the operating system (wouldn't boot up). While I was there a Geek Squad technician, Andy, tested my hard drive to ensure it was salvageable. After ensuring that it was able to be repaired, I was given an estimated repair date of 19 Jul, with the caveat that it could take up to 7 days. Andy was personable and professional. Had no further contact with the Geek Squad until 24 Jul, when I called because the estimated repair date had passed, as well as the 7 day window. Spoke with Anthony, who told me that the hard drive had been removed from my system, but no further action had taken place. I was "next in line." I asked what the delay was, why my system hadn't been touched and Anthony got defensive, said that per my contract they had the right to change the estimated repair date, and did I want it fixed or not. I asked to speak with a manager and Anthony told me to hold on. After 11 minutes, I hung up and called Best Buy back asking to speak with a manager. I was returned to Anthony, when I told him I had no desire to speak with him, I wanted to speak with a manager. He again placed me on hold, returned 4 minutes later, and said the manager was with another customer. I asked for the district manager's number, was told the district manager didn't deal with customers. When I asked to speak to the general manager, Anthony said he would see what he could do and hung up on me. Needless to say I will be picking my computer up today, and never spending another dollar in Best Buy.

WE WERE VERY SATISFIED. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, NICE, AND FRIENDLY. WE HAVE REFERRED THEM TO MANY OF OUR FRIENDS. WE REALLY LOVE THEM.
