Beware customers make certain that when you choose to delete a part item prior to approving the estimate make certain that you see a deduction not only in the cost of the part but the labor associated to that part on the revised estimate. Notice the part cost deduction is separate from the labor cost deduction which is printed in red on your invoice. I have over 20 years of experience writing estimates invoices proposals for a very large company prior to retirement and this oversight I believe should not have occurred. In my case I deleted two items one being on back order which would have caused another major delay and the other item part I deleted was not necessary to perform. The revised estimate invoice from the company owner Dennis did not deduct labor cost after I decided to delete these too large labor intensive items on my invoice which saved me $66.75 after I brought this in accuracy to his attention. This was my first interaction with this company and my last.

Great. It was done quickly and worked well when I used the lawnmower.

I had a horrible experience with this place, and I have found that several of their employees are unprofessional and downright rude. (The one star is for the 2 employees that went out of their way to be polite and helpful to me.) First let me say that I had heard from several trusted friends, and 2 other small engine shops, that Liberty is known for dishonest behavior when it comes to warranty work. I have also seen several reviews online that support these claims. I literally had one shop tell me that "Liberty will tell you there is no oil in your mower, and tell you it's not under warranty." That is exactly what happened to me. I dropped a push mower off for warranty repair. My first impression was bad, as I had to listen to one of the employees at the desk badmouth another employee that was outside helping customers, calling him lazy and "surprised" to see him working. However, after that another employee was very enthusiastic and helpful getting my mower submitted for repair. A week later, I received a call from Chris, who is apparently the GM. He told me there was no oil in the mower (lie, that was the first thing I checked when the mower stopped working, I even have a video of me checking the oil). He then told me the connecting rod had broken and I needed a new engine, and it wasn't under warranty. I later found out this was another lie, as a different, more reputable shop actually investigated the issue with my mower. The connecting rod was fine, and the damage to the mower was a manufacturer defect that IS covered under warranty. I proceeded to call Liberty back about this issue, because I really wanted an explanation. Chris was very nasty and argumentative on the phone with, about an issue I KNEW he was incorrect about, with video proof and another shops accurate diagnosis. I really wanted an explanation, dishonest shops are a pet peeve of mine. I got nothing but attitude and nastiness. When I was hung up on, I called back to speak to the owner, and whomever i was put on the phone with was also very unprofessional and nasty. I am very sad to say that I will NEVER do business with this company again, and I will make sure nobody I know ever does business with them. It was bad enough that they handled my business this way, but after being warned several times, and reading several places online that this is what they do, I am surprised they are still in business.

I picked up the mower and everything looked fine. When I started the mower up the pressure caused the OHC cover to begin leaking oil again. Upon closer inspection I discovered that they had attempted to flatten the aluminum cover and replace it. To purchase a new cover would have cost $9.00, however they charged over $20.00 for the labor in an attempt to flatten the old one. Should have been a basic repair for them. Ordered the new OHC cover and liquid gasket seal and fixed it myself. I take my mowers and equipment elsewhere now.

I mow about ten to twelve acres of grass every week during the summer. This lazer is 12 years old. It has a liquid cooled kawasaki two cylinder engine. One afternoon, May 6, 2012, it began to blow blue smoke out the exhaust. I shut it off right away and took it to the dealer where I purchased it. This dealer, Liberty Discount, is pretty busy this time of year so I was figuring I would be waiting awhile for any work to be done. I was right about that. But I figured I could mow most of what I had with another mower, a 52and quot; Toro walk behind. So I leave the lazer with them and start on mowing with the Toro. Then it too craps out. So I take it up to Liberty and tell that I am down to the 21and quot; craftsman push mower. Well they replaced the field coil ($402.02 parts and labor) on the Toro and I got that back the next day. I mowed all May walking behind the Toro. Lost a little weight. I picked thee lazer up June 5, 2012. Boy was that a relief. So they take care of their customers as best they can. The prices are reasonable. The quality is excellent.

I HAD TO STAND IN LINE FOR A VERY LONG TIME BEFORE I PURCHASED THE MOWER SINCE THE STORE WAS BUSY. WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO BE WAITED ON I HAD TO PURCHASE THE DISPLAY MODEL SINCE THERE WAS NO OTHER MODEL IN STOCK THAT I WANTED.
Response from Liberty Discount Lawn Equipment and Appliances
"Well....being that we have signed up to participate with this resource only now in 2010, this is the first we are aware of this incident. At this point all we can say is that at times we are VERY BUSY, but when a member of our staff gets to a customer he/she has our full attention and will be assisted and provided with any information required. As far as stocking goes we carry quite a few of every unit that is on display sometimes as much as a couple dozen, but sometimes it comes down to only the "floor-model" remaining."
