You know how they say you should never go with the lowest bid? Well, KC Contractors is the one time to make an exception to that rule. Keith and his folks are great! We used them for our home's FHA rebab 4.5 years ago so we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. (I just never got around to writing a review for him then, what with all the busyness of moving.)
The smaller bathroom is wonderful with the windows in it now! It has so much more light than it ever has in the past. Except for early in the morning and after dark, we generally don't need to turn on the light in the room now.
The larger bathroom remodeling project was quite a feat! We'd planned on having it gutted down to the studs. But it became more complicated when Keith's employees found that the original bathtub had *no* subflooring underneath it. The only thing between the bathtub and the crawl space had been two one-inch wide, long pieces of wood that were supporting it. (Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up.) So they removed all of the bathroom flooring, replacing the original galvanized pipe with PVC and copper in the process, and then put in subflooring on the entire bathroom -- including under the tub!
They replaced all the walls, patching some of the rotted studs; redid the ceiling; rewired the lights and fan so that they are now operated by different switches; installed brand new flooring and tub surround with tiles we'd purchased at Community Forklift; repainted the ceiling and walls; and installed two new light fixtures, a new fan, a new tub, a new vanity/sink, a new medicine cabinet, a new shower curtain rod, and new hardware. The only things in the bathroom now that were there before are the toilet and the window.
It looks amazing and is by far the nicest room in our house right now!
