We contacted Appliance Land in desperation after two big box stores failed to handle the installation of the gas cook top we had chosen. After we endured the box stores' rude customer service staff and installers who tried to charge us nearly $1,000 of unexpected plumbing work, Appliance Land was friendly, prompt, and set us up with a capable local plumber. We were surprised the prices we were charged compared very favorably to what the big national chains were demanding. We definitely will go back. We expected to pay a lot more for this level of customer service and the kind of basic courtesy that is getting harder to find.

They are the kind of people that explains to you why this machine is different from that machine. So, it was really easy for me to pick what I needed.

The store on US1 in Beltsville, MD is not easy to find, but I am glad we persisted.  (We had planned our shopping tour to hit 6 stores.  Appliance Land was #5 on our itinerary, and we were getting tired and discouraged.)

The sole employee in the shop, Kurt, was being busy on the phone and with live customers.  However, he took the time to listen to us, find out what we needed, and make recommendations.  I thought he was quite knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.  He certainly was not a high-pressure salesman.  We did not make a decision in the store.  (We were 99% sure we would opt for Appliance Land, but we agreed to hit the final store on our list before committing.)  Later that day my wife called Kurt and completed the deal.

The delivery had one slight glitch.  The delivery men were supposed to call in the morning and confirm their arrival time, but we never received a call.  When we called Appliance Land at noon, we were told the delivery was scheduled for between 2 and 4 PM.(The delivery men insisted they had called and left a message.  They must have had the wrong number or misdialed because we were home all morning.)  Any how, the delivery occurred on schedule.  The delivery men were courteous and professional.

Freezer runs fine.  We did have to adjust the temperature setting  a few times.

It was a good experience. Everything was fine. They were timely, They called that morning to confirm they were coming in an 2 hour block and did come during that time. There was an issue removing an appliance, but I instated that it could be done and he did it.
