The refrigerator and freezer were not cooling at all and everything had melted in the probably 24 hours it had been warming up. Ron reset the board which got things back up and running, and told us at this age - 10 years - the computer board my need to be replaced if it happens again and the cost would be $489 installed. That sounds fair. Hope it doesn't cost us again, but he has us prepared. Also recommended a future brand to purchase that he feels is solid in case we decide to buy a new one. What more could you want. Thanks Towson Appliance who was recommended by a friend in the neighborhood!
We discovered early morning on a Thursday that our washer wouldn't spin and drain. I suspected a faulty lid switch. Phone dispatcher was prompt in providing a same-day appointment for 1-3 p.m. Repairman showed up about 1:20, quickly diagnosed the problem as a lid switch, and fixed it, professional and polite. So far, so good. I asked the price of the part, and was told $75. Quite a markup. You can generally get these for a Kenmore 80 series for about $40, and I've seen them for as little as $20, so I felt a bit gouged by the final bill of $165 for a 15-minute repair. Also, the invoice was not for Towson Appliance Service. It was for a company called Antonic Appliance Repair, which isn't rated on Angie's List. Apparently Towson Appliance Repair is subbing out some jobs, so you might want to ask first which company you'll really be getting for the repair job. I checked the box saying I'd use them again, but probably only in a pinch, and will look for alternatives, because I'm a bit dubious about their pricing and their apparent practice of sending sub-contractors without letting you know in advance.
I had received many good referrals for this company and then looked then up on Angie's List. I was very happy to see that Angie's list backed up all the referrals.
I woulds use them again for any Appliance repair.
I can't comment on the price because the repairs were covered by warranty. But from a customer service perspective, we had a great experience. I gave them a and quot;Band quot; on responsiveness only because they were late in getting back to me to set a date for follow-up repairs, but it was a very minor issue. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, courteous, and professional, and two service appointments were promptly scheduled. Plus, they were able to service our 15-year-old Sub Zero fridge when several other companies, including Sears, were unable to do so.
